EXCLUSIVE: Billy on the Street star Billy Eichner has signed on for a four-episode arc on Netflix‘s upcoming comedy series Friends From College.
Starring Keegan-Michael Key, Cobie Smolders and Fred Savage, the series follows Ethan and Lisa Turner, a couple recently returned to New York City who reunites with their friend Max Adler and the other members of their group of college friends. Eichner will play Dr. Felix Forzenheim, a fertility doctor to Ethan and Lisa who becomes romantically involved with Max. As Max and his friends relive their college days, he loses his patience and provides the group with sorely needed, sometimes-biting outsider commentary.
Created and written by Nicholas Stoller and Francesca Delbanco, Friends From College also stars Annie Parisse, Nat Faxon and Jae Suh Park. The eight-episode first season is set to air in 2017 on the streaming service.
Eichner’s TruTV series Billy on the Street returns for Season 5 in November with confirmed guests to include Jon Hamm, John Oliver, Lupita N’yong’o, Aziz Ansari and Seth Rogen among others. His Hulu sitcom Difficult People, on which he co-stars with series-creator Julie Klausner, recently was renewed for a 10-episode third season to air in 2017. Eichner is repped by UTA and 3Arts
