Fury's fed up

Tyson Fury at ‘breaking point’ as Heavyweight champ’s trainer and uncle Peter Fury blames ‘witch hunt’

World Heavyweight Champion Tyson Fury is at an "all-time low" after being told he is medically unfit to fight Wladimir Klitschko, according to his trainer and uncle Peter Fury

TYSON FURY'S rescheduled rematch with Wladimir Klitschko was scrapped because he is at "breaking point".

The undefeated Gypsy King was originally due to defend his WBA Super and WBO world heavyweight titles on July 9 but an ankle injury forced a postponement.

A second date with Klitschko on October 29 at the Manchester Arena bit the dust on Friday when it emerged he was struggling with mental health issues.

Clarification of his condition is expected tomorrow, but uncle and trainer Peter Fury has confirmed the champ is seeking medical assistance.

Speaking to iFL TV, he said: "We had various issues with [Tyson], he was snapping a lot, his mind was elsewhere some days.

"We have a super talent here, he's been driven underground and is at breaking point. He is seeking help, nothing means anything. He is at an all-time low.

"He has always been a volatile person and is up and down but never like this. Even we did not know what the matter is with him. There was no drive there.

"This kid needs help. This is the reality of the system breaking a man down.

"I think he needs time to reflect. I don't care if he doesn't box again.

"I'm sickened he is not financially secure so maybe he will come back.

"This is where he is at at the moment. I'm not interested in fight dates, we will take our time. My main issue is Tyson's health and well-being."

Fury, 28, toppled Klitschko via unanimous decision in Germany last November to become unified champion.

He was stripped of the IBF title shortly afterwards when the 40-year-old Ukrainian triggered a contracted rematch clause.

Fury never felt the achievement of ending Klitschko's decade of dominance received the credit it deserved.

And Peter Fury believes that has contributed to the fighter's current state of mind.

"I think he has said on many occasions: 'What's it for? Because if I am not being credited for the work I've done and for what I've achieved, why am I bothering?'

"So I think it's created a lot of negativity in him as a person.

"It's just the lack of respect he's received on a global scale, so that's had an effect.

"He come in the gym for a rematch, he did injure his ankle.

"It was genuine, he was having a good camp but even so when we were abroad in Holland, he kept saying: 'I'm gonna do it... I'm losing interest in this game'.

"From then we had various issues with him, he's been snapping a lot.

He's coming in the gym, his mind was elsewhere some days.

"I think because of the witch hunt against him, the recent [drug] allegations and everything else has just put him over the edge.

"And he said if this is what boxing is doing, then I don't want it.

"It's very disappointing for me... he's been driven underground with it.

"He's at breaking point and now he is seeking help.

"There will be a statement issued probably on Tuesday and basically nothing means anything.

"He's at an all-time low."

IBF world champion Anthony Joshua, set to defend his belt for the second time on November 26, has offered to face Klitschko if Fury is stripped of his titles.

Promoter Eddie Hearn hopes to confirm AJ's next assignment by the end of the week.
