You have your ticket to NYCC. You have your cosplay carefully packed and ready to be transported. And you’ve blocked off your Thursday evening. You’re almost ready to attend io9 and Kotaku’s Cosplay Ball, presented by Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, happening this Thursday—you just need to read this first.
If you’re attending the New York Comic-Con and will be at the Javits Center after the show ends on Thursday, October 6, there will be two buses (located at 655 W 34th St) to take attendees directly to the party—look for the guy holding the sign that says “Cosplay Bus.” The busses will be first-come, first-served, so we suggest lining up early. At 6:30 pm, they’ll take partygoers to Studio@17 (located at 2 West 17th Street).
Once the Cosplay Ball begins at 7:00 pm, besides food, drinks, dancing, and everything else we’ve told you about, we’re also happy to announce there’ll be a performance by the Fantastic Plastics and the chance to become an action figure, thanks to 3D scanning by Shapeways!
One Final Note: Remember, you must be 21 or older, and have a valid I.D., in order to enter the Cosplay Ball. You must also be wearing cosplay… however, we know that there are people who will want to either remove their costume for part of the party or are coming with someone in costume. This is an inclusive event and we’ll do our best to accommodate everyone.
