Holy hot rockstars, check that cover!!!!
This book had me smiling a lot at the banter between the leads. A fierce heroine and a hot rocker that are very fun together. The build up of their romance is set at a perfect pace to let the suspense unfold. But the romance doesn't overshadow an awesome plot with twists and turns that took me by surprise.
This debut novel flows well, the writing drew me in, the characters (also the secondary ones) are outspoken and loveable, and the story kept me glued to my reader.

This is a 5+++ star read that will give you everything you could hope for in a book that you can’t put down. We have the extremely hot, sexy bad boy rocker, a strong female with lots of backbone, and supporting characters that leave you waiting for their own books to come out. Julian is the rock star who has had to come through a very devastating event in his life that left a friend and fellow band member dead. His way of handling this was by hiding behind booze and women all the time struggling to come out on the other side and still have his band make it to the big times. Phoebe also had her demons to contend with which had her changing her name and running from the south to New York. With her dream of becoming a writer she lands a job working for music mag, Vinyl. Her assignment which brings her in the path of Julian, is going to a club and interviewing a rock star who is on his way downwards and who she finds out is a lecherous person who only wants to get in her pants. Luckily for Phoebe her knight in shining armor is at the bar and makes a claim on her mouth in order to hopefully get rid of the drunken guy she is supposed to be interviewing. Now, that’s a way to be rescued! Phoebe has no idea who this guy is but he has left a lasting impression on her whether she wants to admit it or not.
The path that Julian and Phoebe take is crazy when you figure that Phoebe is trying to stay under the radar, with good reason, and Julian won’t take no for an answer from her which throws her into the spotlight whether she likes it or not. There are so many twists and turns in this book that your fingers almost feel warm from turning the pages so quickly because you can’t wait to see what is going to happen next. I loved Phoebe’s roommate Gage and the connection that he and Phoebe had was heartwarming. The lines that boy didn’t come up with will leave you wanting for more!

Plus you can only hope that we get another good look at the supporting characters that you will love as well. I just found myself another author that I will definitely follow from here on out!

I just happened to be scrolling through Facebook when this book popped up on my newsfeed, after reading the blurb I though why not I love a good rockstar read and I'm glad I did this book was the best I've read in a long time filled with angst, suspense and a good few twists and turns along the way that keep you guessing till the very end. Phoebe Ryan is a writer for a music magazine she's out at a club one night where she's to interview an ageing boy band star but things to go to plan when said star gets a little to hands on with her however a tall dark tatted handsome stranger comes to her rescue at the time she doesn't recognise him as Julian Bale lead singer/guitarist of upcoming band Lords Of Lyre. They're both attracted to each other but they're both hiding secrets Phoebe is running from her past and determined to stay hidden which isn't easy when you're pictured with one of the hottest rocktars around. Julian was in self destruct mode weighed down with guilt from memories of his past drowning his sorrows in booze and woman until he meets Phoebe he wants her and when he wants something he gets it but amongst the secrets he's hiding is the fact that he's being stalked he tries to keep things under control but the situation escalates and things take a sinister turn. The banter between Phoebe and Julian was soo funny at times I actually laughed out loud as for the secondary characters they were really interesting I loved Phoebe's best friend and roommate Gabe he was funny and lovable every girl needs a BFF like him, and the sex scenes were HOT!!!. Brilliant start to the series I cant wait to see what happens next.

‼️‼️‼️THE HERO IS OTT POSSESSIVE PROTECTIVE ALPHA MALE. Even at first when he meet the heroine for the first time, he got so possessive when someone else likes her🤣🤣🤣
‼️‼️‼️THE HEROINE IS SO FUNNY BECAUSE OF HER SENSE OF HUMOR AND SHE SO SASSY! SHE KNOWS HOW TO DEFEND HERSELF PHYSICALLY AND EMOTIONALLY 😏😏😏 my girl! She knows so much about using a gun so thats badass female! 🤩 Also she’s 22 turning 23 in the book. She have a great birthday🥺

I feel as if I have just exited a complete twist and turn thrill ride. Wow, what an amazing start to this series!!! Up and coming author Cora Kenborn has shown her pure writing genius with her debut book Fame and Obsession: The Lords of Lyre Series. If you love stories about hot rockers and the sassy ladies they love...add in a whole lotta angst the need to b****h slap a few folks, then this is the series for you!
Julian Bale's band Lords of Lyre are the new hot ticket and on their way to rocker stardom. But this hot rocker has a past, demons that keep him from truly moving forward from one night that forever changed him. Just as that one night changed Julian he never expected that once again 'one night' would again alter his path. A chance encounter that leads to a steamy kiss with a stranger rocks his world. He can't forget those beautiful eyes, that smart mouth or the way she woke something in him he had long since buried. He knew what he had to do, he had to find his "princess" and he would stop at nothing until she was his.
Phoebe Ryan was determined to make a life for herself as a writer in New York, leaving North Carolina and the nightmare that was once her life behind her. She was hell-bent those demons, that life she was once forced to endure would not stop her. Her writing... that would be her ticket to a new life. Her job at Vinyl has her sitting in a bar waiting to do an interview. Moments later Phoebe finds herself wrapped in a strangers arms locked in a kiss that she quickly loses herself in. Phoebe's plans don't quite go as she insisted they would and soon she is locked in those rockers arms once again but nothing can last forever...can it? One of Julian's hidden demons is determined they will not be overlooked. He has dealt with the stalkers letters but now texts? How is this happening...why? When the texts get too personal, everything changes. He can't handle the psychopath threatening his 'princess'. He can't allow any harm to come to her. Just as Julian is determined to keep Phoebe safe from his psycho stalker, she too has to protect him. The secret she harbors could be detrimental to both of them.
This book kept me on the edge of my seat!! I was completely immersed in this story, page after page. It was filled with mystery, angst, (oh sweet mercies)....the hot factor, and yes several folks that were in need of a good throat punch! The secondary characters, oh I feel in love with. I cannot wait to see what Cora has in store for some of them.

How could she not be my bestie?!? I messaged her, we chatted, she turned down my bestie offer because hers is KA Ware (remember her?!). I looked up her book on my favorite online retailer and was bummed to find out that it wasn't released yet. You mean I'd have to wait a few weeks to read this awesome woman of marvelous words?!? I forgot I review books and can sometimes have an “in” getting books early. It was so nice of Cora to remind me!

I love books that have strong female leads who challenge the alpha male with suspense and sexual tension thrown in. Writer Phoebe catches the eye of rocker Julian with her sass and fire. Both have their own issues that their juggling while keeping each other at arm's length. This book has sarcastic banter in spades which I love! The plot thickens with a stalker lurking and I was kept guessing until the very end as to their identity. My guess was off! I would have had the wrong person arrested.
As soon as I finished Fame and Obsession, I contacted Cora with “Oh my god! When does the next one come out?!?” It was 12:27am. There are characters I want to know more about! Gage? Faith? Zane? Oh my! A sign of a great read is when I can’t wait to read the next one. Bring on more books, Cora Kenborn!

Fame and Obsession was the story about a struggling writer Phoebe Ryan and The Lead Singer of the upcoming band The Lords of Lyre, Julian Bale. Julian and Phoebe both have major demons that they are trying to overcome, and just them trying to get through those at the same time figure out what is going on with them is at times hysterical, very trying, and heart-wrenching.
Cora is a master at weaving a captivating storyline. She had me hooked from the first page of this book to the very last page. The character development was amazing, all the characters had depth to them and I can’t wait for the rest of these books. This book flowed so well (as evidenced by the fact I read it in an entire day). The build up of the story was amazing AND just when you think that they are going to have their happily ever after… something else happens. I am not one for cliffhangers.. And to be honest it wasn’t a HUGE one… but in this instance… I loved it and am salivating for more!!!

This is a review a very long time coming. I finished this book ages ago, but thanks to life, holidays, and a whole slew of other hurdles, I kept having to push back writing it. But here we are and I can’t wait to get started.
FAME & OBSESSION by Cora Kenborn is a debut novel that will shock and amaze you. For a first time author, we usually give a bit of leeway, expecting it to be good, entertaining even, but we never expect it to stay with us long after the last page. But despite it being months since I read it, I remember every scene in vivid detail. Ms. Kenborn will hold you to the edge of your seat until she’s good and done with you.
Phoebe Ryan is a writer escaping a haunted past. Julian Bale is a rockstar with his own ghosts. Right from the very first chapter, you can feel the heat jump off these two. It’s intense and wild, and will leave you breathless to see what happens next. Julian, being the oh so clever man that he is, coaxes our lovely heroine into writing his autobiography and it all goes up in flames from there. The good kind of flames. The sexy, dirty kind that makes us readers reach for our water glasses. But the insanity doesn’t end there. Phoebe has a stalker and you will not believe who it is. I sure didn’t. I recall very clearly the moment I found out. I literally bolted upright in my seat and gasped, ‘no freaking way!’
But with all the good, of which there are many, there were two things I didn’t quite like. One was Julian’s ex-girlfriend. The other was the cliffhanger at the end and no second book (yet). The first needed to be thrown into a volcano. The second needs to be rectified quickly.

Wow - this book was awesome! I was engaged from start to finish and there was definitely some twists and turns that I was not expecting at all!!
Phoebe is an interesting character and we know that she is holding herself back but we don't find out everything until almost the end and then everything makes total sense. I love her relationship with her best friend Gage Harlow and he is definitely an awesome character. As I learned more about Phoebe I really appreciated her strengths and why she had self-doubt.
Julian was a rock star whose fame caused many problems for himself and to a certain degree his whole band. He had a hard time getting over the loss of Billy Lamee and we didn't find out why towards the end but I hated that he blamed himself. He was definitely dedicated to winning Phoebe over and was stubborn with not giving up, yet he still did at times which almost cost him everything.
I was definitely totally surprised by the ending and did a total WTF!! The book was so well written that it came out of nowhere and I was so impressed!
So there will be another book next and I am so excited! This one doesn't leave you with a cliffhanger but the promise of another excellent read!!

Wow - for a first release, Cora Kenborn hits this out of the park. - Phoebe Ryan leaves a very traumatic life behind in North Carolina and moves to Manahattan where she is working for a Publishing Company as a writer for their Music Mag Vinyl.Phoebe, along with her BFF roommate Gage (LOVE HIM) are at a club where Phoebe is to interview an aging boy band star. When said star gets a little "handsy" Bad Boy Rocker Julian Bale comes to the rescue - Awesome right?? except Phoebe has no idea who he is. Julian is everything you want a bad boy to be - arrogant, egotistical,drop dead gorgeous but underneath he is hiding demons and tries to drown them in booze and women- Until Phoebe.
Julian & Phoebe together are a riot, their banter at times had me LOL and for a suspense novel with some pretty deep issues, that was very welcomed.I loved that both these characters never lose sight of who they are throughout the story and don't change for the other. There are some unresolved issues in their story, but book two is on the way - hopefully really soon.

Let me start by saying WOW. The capital letters are necessary on this one, too. Cora Kenborn had me at the first word and took me on a ride until I read the last. For a debut book, this story has it all. Sexy hero and heroine, rock star romance, fame and obsession in the form of a stalker.
The novel follows Phoebe, who has a tortured past, and Julian, the lead singer of Lords of Lyre. When they first meet, it's electric and every time their together it gets a little hotter until the explosion rocks their, and my, world. But it isn't all about the romance. Julian has a crazy stalker who wants everyone out of his life, except her. I tried to guess over and over who the stalker was, but I never saw it coming until the end.
This book is exciting and well written. If you haven't gotten your copy, get it now. You won't be sorry. Cora Kenborn is definitely a new author to watch! Can't wait for the next book in the installment!

Fame and Obsession by Cora Kenborn is Book 1 in the Lords of Lyre series.
I akin this book to a romantic suspense, and it was unbelievably good. The more I read, the more I got hooked. I could vividly picture this book as a movie pretty much the whole time. The characters are great and carefully created with emotionally charged back stories that bleed into the present.
The name speaks for itself and that it deals with Fame both internal and external as well as the obsessive fan and stalker aspect.
It has the ability to keep you guessing the whole time with plot twists and suspense, romance and humour. Such a fantastic read from a new author for me and now I can not wait til book 2.

This story had me laughing, biting my nails, and fanning myself...Ooh la la. Cora Kenborn masterfully created a tale that embodied a very swoon-worthy, alpha rock star and a firecracker woman that is ready to take on the world. These two lovable characters come crashing together in a heated, emotional plot that draws you in and has you wildly flipping through the pages.
There is also the element of danger that is slowly woven into the story that has you on the edge of your seat. The past is not always behind you especially when you have dark and dangerous secrets… I look forward to what comes next in this fantastic series.

Grab a glass of your favorite drink, shut everyone else out and be ready to do nothing else but finish this book. Because once you start you won't want to put it down.
The author gives us two strong lead characters that each have their own past which makes a relationship between them seem like it shouldn't work.
It's so much more than a love story. It pulls you in and keeps you cheering for them. I can't wait for the next book to be released.

Cora quickly pulled me into the world of Julian and Phoebe. I read the whole book in knew setting - I just had to know what happened next! Their story is filled with little twists and excitement to keep you interested.

Phoebe Ryan moved to NYC to work as a journalist in a famous music magazine and she did so in the hopes to put her past life behind, after a trauma destroyed what she was trying to build. It seems everything is going smooth until she meets Julian Bale, a man with quick banter that catches her eye but also makes her think about what she's been escaping from. Little does she know that Julian is a rock star, the frontman of Lords Of Lyre, and that he will do anything to ensure that Phoebe writes his autobiography to keep seeing her around. When the attraction Julian and Phoebe have for each other starts sizzling, none of them is ready for what's to come: an obsessed stalker will threaten both their lives and their love, as well as secrets from their past will taunt their existence.
You know, in the last few months after I have read a lot of NA books, I realized that I love a good story with a good amount of romance, suspense, mystery. This book has them all. And if you add a heroine that is not dumb and submissive, it's a great deal. The story is what compelled me to love this book even more. It could look like the usual hot girl falls for hot stud with a jerky personality, but there is more. Besides the unfolding of the main love story, there is also a mystery that revolves around a stalker who seems to see everything but is impossible to find. In fact as a reader I tried to think about who the stalker might be but ended up mistaking all of my guesses. This is how much I was captivated into the story - I adore when a writer knows how to intrigue you and come up with the unexpected when it's time to resolve a plot point.
Phoebe was also a smart heroine, unlike other ladies I have read. She came from the South where obviously she led another life, to New York. There she started anew and tried to put her past behind. She was a strong lady despite what has happened and happens to her in the book. Her reactions seemed believable and I found myself agreeing with most of her choices. Julian, the main male character, was also interesting. He was an alpha male and acted as one throughout the story and at times I rolled my eyes at him but Phoebe was sort of answering for myself, lol. She isn't 100% happy about the outcome at the end of the book too, but she's decided to let it go for the moment. I wonder if in the second book we will see a different side of her and of him, because I find Julian too protecting and controlling at times but I can't blame him. Phoebe handles his attitude very well but I want to see how she will behave.
Around Julian and Phoebe we had more interesting characters like Zane, Ty, Gage and Faith. I would love if the author will also write a book with the other members of Lord of Lyre!

5 Electrified Guitars for Fame and Obsession
Ahhh, Julian. And Cora Freaking Kenborn. Fame and Obsession....the book that started my obsession with all the words Ms Kenborn writes in all the genres. But when it you get to my romantic literary preferences, at their base, it's like my life - everything centers around the f@#$ing rockstars. If I'm not reading rockstar romance, I most likely have my nose in a thriller. What pulled me in back in 2016 (leading to Cora becoming one of my favorite authors no matter what she's writing, which, sadly, doesn't contain many other rockstars.... and that doesn't even bum me out.... she's that talented!) was the way she so seamlessly brought my two favorite genres together, infusing both with a wicked sense of humor.
Rereading this newly updated version in preparation for the book I've been waiting five long years for (the third in the Lords of Lyre series - coming soon! Get Fame and Lies on your TBR!!) has been a wonderful reminder of what drew me to this charismatic author in the first place. I think I adore and admire Phoebe even more than I originally did, but Julian is every bit the cocky hero I have never forgotten. It also reminded me how awesome Gabe is....every girl needs a Gabe in her corner.
So, my absolute highest recommendations. Along with Fame and Secrets. And I'm positive Fame and Lies will join as soon as my eyes get a chance to inhale it. Cora Kenborn never disappoints; add the rockstar element and I'm thinking we're heading for the series of the year, if not the book of the year.
Fame and Secrets is waiting for me to dive back into so I will end my babbling for the moment. Grab Fame and Obsession this instant if you haven't already.... you'll want to be ready for release day (and, naturally, you'll need to squeeze in time for Fame and Lies as well.). I think I adore and admire Phoebe even more than I originally did, but Julian is every bit the cocky hero I have never forgotten. It also reminded me how awesome Gabe is....every girl needs a Gabe in her corner.
So, my absolute highest recommendations. Along with Fame and Secrets. And I'm positive Fame and Lies will join as soon as my eyes get a chance to inhale it. Cora Kenborn never disappoints; add the rockstar element and I'm thinking we're heading for the series of the year, if not the book of the year.
Fame and Secrets is waiting for me to dive back into so I will end my babbling for the moment. Grab Fame and Obsession this instant if you haven't already.... you'll want to be ready for release day (and, naturally, you'll need to squeeze in time for Fame and Lies as well.). If Cora is a new to you author, enjoy your next few months catching up. Whether it's romcom, mafia, dark fairy tale retellings, or any other genre she's dipped her toes into, you won't be able to stop turning those pages. And if you're like me and love the musicians whether you want to or not, you can thank me for turning you on to these by reading, at the very least, this series. Ms Kenborn's unique style is simply irresistible.

I've been looking forward to this book for a long time. Well, it felt like a long time. When it finally arrived, I danced my happy dance and set aside time to read without any distractions. Fabulous story line and well developed characters. I loved every minute of this book. If you haven't read this, what are you waiting for?

I will give the author 3 stars for suspense and making sure there is NEVER a dull moment, it is a page turner BUT the heroine needs to grow the fuck up. For someone who has been through so much, she is seriously immature. If I were an up and coming 20something rock star, as is our hero, I would never put up with her game playing, bitchy, mouthy ass, too many fish in the sea. Further more, the author failed to make me believe this undeniable attraction they had. Authors can do better than characters having sex and BAM, they are instantly attracted to each other and attached to the others hip. Give readers a foundation, these two had too many secrets from each other for "soul mates" to ever be believed. Of course this ends on a cliffy, so I hope curiosity doesn't kill this cat.

I don't normally read romance novels, but now I do if Cora Kenborn is writing them! She is fantastic! I read this awhile back, but I am still thinking about the characters....and Book #2...yes??!! You will love this book and author! Cora Kenborn has what it takes to keep you gripping to the edge of your seat (or bed) and making you beg for more! Hopefully, you will join me in my newfound "fame and obsession" for this series! Thank you!

Not sure what Phoebe's appeal was because she was bitch to Julian for too much of the book. She screamed "stalker" at him all the time. Then they connected and then I could appreciate their chemistry. I think so often lust takes over just getting to know each other.
I liked the characters and when a bunch of new characters came in at the end I guessed that there would be sequel.

Loved Julian and Phoebe's story! Haunted pasts and unexpected love! I love DPOV stories and these characters didn't disappoint! Huge cliff hanger though, so be prepared since Fame & Secrets isn't out yet!

It was a rollercoaster of emotions! Seriously the characters had me both loving and feeling skeptical of them during different points of the story. Overall a great read and characters I was rooting for makes me look forward to reading part 2 of their story.

Phoebe Ryan, 22, works for Vinyl Magazine and has a big interview with rocker Heath Vaughn. When Phoebe is accosted by some drunk guy at the bar waiting for Heath she is rescued by a mysterious man who seems to be at the right place at the right time. Yet when she begins to receive flowers maybe this man has just moved into "stalker" mode.
Julian Bale is not used to hearing the word no from ladies and when he hears it from Phoebe he is instantly attracted to her. Yet as part of the band, Lords of Lyre, he has many groupies and seems to have a stalker of his own.
When Julian and Phoebe begin working together the two begin to get much closer but have their on and off patches. When it's clear that Julian's stalker hasn't given up how much danger is everyone around Julian in?
With both Phoebe and Julian holding in secrets from their respective pasts will the stalker reveal all the truths that they have tried to keep hidden? Will it push the two of them farther away from each other in hopes of keeping the other one safe?
Wow - this book was awesome! I was engaged from start to finish and there was definitely some twists and turns that I was not expecting at all!!
Phoebe is an interesting character and we know that she is holding herself back but we don't find out everything until almost the end and then everything makes total sense. I love her relationship with her best friend Gage Harlow and he is definitely an awesome character. As I learned more about Phoebe I really appreciated her strengths and why she had self-doubt.
Julian was a rock star whose fame caused many problems for himself and to a certain degree his whole band. He had a hard time getting over the loss of Billy Lamee and we didn't find out why towards the end but I hated that he blamed himself. He was definitely dedicated to winning Phoebe over and was stubborn with not giving up, yet he still did at times which almost cost him everything.
I was definitely totally surprised by the ending and did a total WTF!! The book was so well written that it came out of nowhere and I was so impressed!
So there will be another book next and I am so excited! This one doesn't leave you with a cliffhanger but the promise of another excellent read!!

Mystery… love… all wrapped together… what else can you ask for!! Fame and Obsession was the story about a struggling writer Phoebe Ryan and The Lead Singer of the upcoming band The Lords of Lyre, Julian Bale.. Both characters are struggling to find themselves… overcoming demons neither want to fight but totally needs to in order to be happy…
The author did a great job in portraying emotions and the flow of the story… this story is very fast paced but the author does keep you in the loop at all times…. The suspense keeps you on your toes and wanting more and more… the happily ever after comes in strong…
This book is part of a series so if you are a series reader and likes suspense this is definitely for you… keep an eye out for all the other titles… the epilogue in this story leads you into the next and that is pretty amazing!! I opened this book not really sure what I was expecting, but I got something I really enjoyed.
Julian, the bad boy rocker who is in the midst of fighting his way out of the destructive spiral he found himself in. His biggest problem is leaving everything and everyone who put him their behind.
Phoebe has her own dark, secret filled past, one that still gives her nightmares and keeps one hand on her stun gun at all times. So when she needs the enigmatic front man from the latest hot band, Lords or Lyre, she's not ready to trust the one who's one look is enough to crack her walls and dampen her panties!
An angst filled book filled with more twists and turns, some you don't even see coming!

This is a love story wrapped in mystery. the writing is fantastic! I loved the main characters, and also the secondary characters. It is fast paced, the writing has a very good flow, and a storyline that is hot, and very intense! The suspense kept me on the edge of my seat. This is one of the better books I have read. It does have a HEA with an epilogue that leads you into the next book. Holy smokes! Some shockers in this! I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a good Romantic Suspense!

Loved the twists and turns!
Julian and Phoebe both have secrets that can put them both in danger. This book has suspense, love, steamy sex and plot twists that will keep you guessing the whole time! I'm surprised by how awesome the story was told by a debut author. Absolutely loved it!
