Pete Davidson: 'I wouldn't be able to do SNL if I didn't smoke weed'

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- Pete Davidson may just be one of medical marijuana's greatest advocates.

The Staten Islander is well-known for his stoner humor, but in a conversation with High Times magazine, Davidson said there's more to it than telling a good joke.

Now 22 and about to star in his third season of "Saturday Night Live," Davidson was diagnosed with Crohn's disease when he was in his late teens. The disease caused him enormous stomach pain, to the point where he couldn't eat and couldn't perform.

Despite trying other drugs, he found that marijuana was the only solution for him, and the only way he could have an appetite.

"I wouldn't be able to do 'SNL' if I didn't smoke weed. I wouldn't be able to do anything," he said.

And it bothers him when people dismiss him as a pothead.

"I work really f****** hard and I take care of my s*** and I need weed in order to do that," he said to the magazine.
