The director went on to note the characters of Logan will find themselves in "circumstances that are a little more real." While the prior X-Men films have been action packed and about "saving the universe," this new X-Men movie will take a look at "what happens when you're in retirement and that career is over."
As such, Logan will tackle something that hasn't yet been addressed in the X-Men film universe: "the idea of mutants when they’re no longer useful to the world, or even sure if they can do what they used to do," when their abilities eventually wane thanks to an aging body.Logan opens in theaters on March 3, 2017.
