After announcing an unknown concept for the 2016 Mondial de L’automobile a while back, Renault just released a teaser imagine with a model called TreZor, and this is how it looks.

The images came forward via L’Automobile Magazine, after the French publication revealed the cover to its latest magazine, and, at the same time, Renault’s upcoming mystery concept and Volkswagen’s I.D. concept in the flesh.

While a previous set of sketches gave us an idea how the German car maker’s automobile will look like, the TreZor remained an enigma. Until now, that is.

Renault said the study marks “the beginning of a brand new design cycle” for its line-up, and like in recent years, the French car manufacturer opted once again to present its design reboot via a concept with supercar-esque proportions.

The TreZor’s aesthetics look strikingly familiar, similar to some of Mercedes’ latest concept cars, including the Gran Turismo Vision and the Maybach 6. But we’re more interested in the model’s details and style cues, as those are the elements that’ll make it in future Renault products (just like the 2010 DeZir concept did with the Clio).

Further details about the TreZor are unknown until its official unveiling, but since the concept was conceived only to show a new design path, expect the French car maker to say something like “it’s powered by five electric motors and a rocket”.

H/T to Automarket!

* Update – we found another picture of the concept
