The HItman's Duology #1

The Hitman's Possession

Rate this book
I'm a hard, ruthless, and brutal killer… but I'm not letting her go.
I'm the most feared man in South Boston. I've earned that title and the nickname "The Animal." Women may think it’s because I'm wild in bed, and one night with me and they’d f*cking know it.

But there’s a darker reason for my reputation... I think nothing about ending a life. Feelings are a luxury I can’t afford.

Until her.

I hear Tess cry for help and I give into the urge to help her. One look at her and I knew I had to risk it all to rescue her. I'm no knight in shining armor; I'm saving her so I can keep the sexy spitfire for myself.

But the mob wants her back. She wasn’t meant to live through that night.

No f*cking way I'm going to let that happen. Tess ignites a fire within me like nothing I've ever known. Her legs are meant to be wrapped around me, and only me.I'll take on the whole Russian mob ―hell, the whole world―to keep the one woman who’s meant to belong to me.

I'll kill every bastard that tries to take her away. She can try to run, but she’s not getting away from this hitman. She's my possession now.

The Hitman’s Possession is a full-length dark romance novel that's intended for mature audiences only. This novel address issues of a serious nature, including violence surrounding the nature of consent that may be a trigger for sensitive readers; contains disturbing situations, graphic language, violence and explicit sexual content. Reader discretion is strongly advised. Cliffhanger warning. This book also contains a bonus book, Threat by Tia Lewis.

If you don't like your heroes dark & brooding, and your sex rough & dirty, look away now.

Mixed feeling on this one.

I liked the cover and the blurb and since most of the reviews were 4 or 5* I was excited when I started reading but I struggled early on and I had problems reconciling the early chapters with the glowing reviews.
I'm struggled early on simply because I have to like at least one (preferably both) of the characters and he's a complete ass, I mean seriously so far there's nothing likeable about him, and as for her we don't have anything to go on we don't even know her name.
I knew going in it was a cliffhanger with a bonus book but I was still surprised when it ended at just 53%.
I have mixed feeling about this book but there was enough here to make me want to continue on and read the second half when it's released.
I have to be honest and say this book felt more like a draft at times, it was jerky and just felt like something was missing.
While I'd struggled with Liam early on and later if I'm being honest especially when he started spending so much time in his head. Tess was a mystery but slowly her story is revealed and we get to know Tess and this was my main issue because she's irritating and ungrateful but more of this in the spoiler, yes I'm sorry I hate spoilers (mainly because I can't resist reading them) but I can't explain my issues here without one.
So basically it comes down to this...there's a good book here, the story's interesting and it's enough for me to want to continue on but the characters were all over the place Liam was awful early on but then I felt sorry for him when he was stuck with Tess.

Liam Hunter is a ruthless hardened hitman, living in South Boston & known as the animal. He is good at his job, enjoys having sex & only seems to care about hoarding the money he earns from his contracts. He believes women are made to pleasure him & nothing more. One night he hears screams on his walk home, a woman's screams. He's curious, so he takes the time to see what the noise is all about. He discovers three Russian mobsters in black suits & cover in tattoos man handling a young blond woman begging for help. Liam asks them to let the woman go but is told to mind his own business. When he refuses the mobsters try to teach Liam a lesson but it is Liam & the young woman, Wendy/Tess, that walk away. Liam finds out that she belonged to a bigwig Russian mobster named Zharkov & he is going to want his property back. But Liam now believes that Wendy/Tess belongs to him because he has killed to save her. And he is expecting her to show some appreciation for what he has done. It becomes apparent that the Russians & his own people are now looking for him so the girl can be returned. Liam decides he is going to fight & kill if necessary for what he believes is his, Tess. The longer they are together the more Liam's past seems to creep into his thoughts to take his focus off what needs to be done. Will Liam be able to do what needs to be done? Will Liam be able to protect Tess? Will Liam & Tess be able to be more?

First thing, if you don't like your romance stories dark, stay away from this one. This is a rough around the edges bad to the bone kind of take no prisoners story. Our male lead had no problem believing women are just there for his gratification. The story starts out real rough but as the two characters start spending more time together it smooths out. It is intended for mature readers. It is down right dirty & violent.

Wow, Action packed.

Tia Lewis is becoming one of my favourite authors, her words are descriptive, thoughtful and flow with ease.

I can fully picture the scenes and feel the characters angst, anger, fears and it's all in The hitmans possession.

Tess, deceived, taken, sold to the Russian Mafia boss Tess's life is definitely looking grim until a chance break away has her fleeing the car she is travelling in but this is a not so lucky in life Tess and she is caught.

Liam hears the screams down an alley way, this laid back, hard man and hit-man investigates out of curiosity.

Two Dead Russians later he's got himself Tess who has nowhere to go and convinces Liam to take her with him.

Shootings and killings are only a taster and the beginning of things to come as The hit-mans possession lunges into an action packed read when Liam and Tess are forced to go into hiding and begin there adventure.

There are hot and humorous moments, despite being wanted and on the run Liam and Tess definitely have their moments and I found this to be a complete and satisfying suspense read containing everything I look for in a perfect read.

Just when the story starts to reach its peak im left looking forward to book 2 and can't wait to see how Liam and Tess get out of their mess.

DNF -OMG, this was garbage! I only made it to 22% before giving up. I can't believe anyone would want to read a book like this or even give it such great reviews! This "Animal" is horrendous, he treats Tess horrible, if I had been her, I would have taken my chances on my own rather than stick around for his so called help. If your into women being treated like Whores & property with no say, called all sorts of names, made to pay for his help with rough sex (We're talking abusive sex), then you may like this book. I did not read anything that made me like either characters or see anything redeeming in either one. There was nothing remotely sexy about the first 22%! & for a hit man, he comes across as nothing but a stupid thug/bully. I don't appreciate reading about women treated so badly by the so called "hero"! Needless to say, I won't read anything else from this author.

It's quite apparent that Liam is not a hearts and flowers kind of man, “sometimes a man gets horny without seeing it coming. And if I’m asleep next to you, wake up, and I’m rock-hard… I’m gonna eff you.” Liam is quite the blunt man, “privacy? For what?” I smirked. “What’s there to be embarrassed about? You’ve already had my ***k.” I was quite surprised to see this book end in a cliffhanger but other than that I loved this book.

Why are there only five stars?!? This book was told entirely in Liam's POV. Liam is a hit man. He rescues Tess from some Russian dudes and takes possession of her. Yes please! Ends on a cliffhanger, but I am anxiously awaiting the next book! So freaking good! Omg steamy.

The Hitmans Possession
Tia Lewis
4 stars

The Animal – the most feared man in his town. I don’t feel – I don’t care – I kill. Until I heard a cry for help. I should have turned the other way and ignored it but I couldn’t. I was bored and I should have been more serious knowing I was headed into something that was going to make me pull out my go to Heckler and Koch but I had done this a million times over. Going in blind was nothing new. Who was I to ignore the screams – she was desperate. It wasn’t a man screaming over and over – it was her. Tess

Tess isn’t supposed to live – she was supposed to die. Tess is trying to run but she wont make it far without me. Yet she doesn’t want me either. She is trying to survive but the mob wants her dead. The man who found her is ruthless. He is just as bad as the men she is running from. For some reason he wants to keep her alive. Not knowing which was to turn Tess might just need to stay close to the dangerous man they call The Animal. It may be her only chance to survive.

This book ends on a cliffy and it’s a good one. I didn’t see the cliffy coming as I thought we would be all squared away by the last page but no such luck. Liam has a mouth on him. Goodness he gets straight to the point but it fits his character perfectly. Until Tess there was no one for him to feel for or no one that he wanted to feel for. Wanting to keep a woman safe is new to him. Wanting to keep anyone safe is new to him but this woman is meant for him. He wont let her go and he will die himself keeping her alive.

There was a lot of action packed drama in this book. Tia did a really good job with the characters and it kept me turning the pages. Like I said I was shocked somewhat to find a cliffhanger at the end and am anxious to find out what happens next.

Thank you for the ARC! Review to post to Ramblings From Beneath The Sheets.

Tia Lewis's never stops to amaze me! Once again, her writing is flawless, real and her attention to details is outstanding. This book is packed with actions and is a fast paced and hella hot read with some mystery and suspense. Once I started reading, I was a goner. Could not put it down.

In the dark romance, The Hitman's Possession, we are introduced to Liam " the animal" , a loner and first class jerk. His brutal honesty and sexual desires will push you to the edge, but you cannot help but being attracted to him. He is strong, sexy and clearly not prince charming but how hot and sexy he is *SWOON. Though to be fair, there's really nothing sweet about the man. His life consists in killing, having sex and waiting for the next phone call for his net hit.

His world is turned upside down the day he decides to save a woman in the street , Tess.
Tia Lewis has tackled very sensitive issues in this book with an exemplary and sensible manner. Tess is not your classic female heroine- she is strong and determined to not let her past define her.
Liam claimed her when he saved her and she became his toy, his possession.

While the romance is hot, what truly grips you is the intrigue behind Liam's past and present. Who is he really? How far is he willing to go to keep Tess?
The book ends on a cliffhanger and I can't wait to know what Tia Lewis has in store for us!

Well this book was certainly a ride, it had me hooked from the first page. The author got straight into the story and really kept my interest for the whole book.

I love Tia Lewis and I have read all her books and love all the different genres she has produced and even though I'm a huge sports romance fan and loved her two sports book I would have to say this is my favourite I don't read a lot of Mafia but this one I loved.

I loved the chemistry between the two characters from the start it wasn't Insta love but it was lust and that was so good. I loved how strong Tess was maybe not in the beginning but being around Liam I think made her stronger and I loved her fight. I loved how she made Liam question himself all time.

There was some scenes where I just cringed because I could picture exactly what was happening and it wasn't pretty but I loved the violence and blood shed in this book and I don't say that about a lot of books.

If you love Mafia then you have to give this book a go it was fantastic.

This is the story of Liam who is a stone cold killer, with a foul mouth, and secrets from his past, and Tess, who has been duped into coming to America, where she is sold to a mafia boss. When Liam saves her, she is determined to find out all about him, which annoys him no end.
This story is full of violence, blood, secrets, twists, and intrigue. Tia always has me enthralled throughout her books, and I cannot wait for the second part to be released. This is well written and flawless, and I am in awe of Tia’s talent for attention to detail. I recommend this authors work for all.

Ugh

I knew there was a cliffhanger, but I still skipped through the book to see where it left off. I shouldn't have even bothered. I'm shocked this book even got good ratings, because it's garbage. The characters are flat. The writing style is juvenile. The story had some promise, but fell flat on it's face. Ugh. Never again.

This is my first Tia Lewis book. I’ve been on a bit of a dark book streak lately so when I read the blurb, I knew I needed to jump into it.

Liam is a stone cold killer. All he has known to do his entire life is to kill. People give him money and takes out whoever they want. His emotions are almost nonexistent, which is what keeps him at the top of his game. There is a reason that he has the nickname “Animal.” He’s ruthless and even more dangerous due to having no feelings. That is until one night one woman’s cries changes everything for him.

Tess has escaped a terrible situation but she finds herself now depended on a man who is known for killing. He isn’t kind and he has no problem taking what he wants. Including her. But there’s something about him that she finds comfort in. Will she be back to tame the wild animal that is Liam or will she get torn apart by his savage desires?

I like the idea that Tess latches on to the person who “saves” her. She finds the good in Liam when no one else does. However, that does not mean that he is a good man. While she certainly makes Liam feel things he hasn’t felt before, he’s still a killer. He’s still cold towards her a lot of the time. He still takes exactly what he wants. So he’s the type of hero that you are confused on why you love him as much as you do. For me, that’s usually because I love the broken men who has just a little bit of heart/love left for that one person. While I think Liam is kind of like that, I would have liked to see him a little more broken.

I was on the fence with Tess. I liked that for the most part, she didn’t put up with Liam’s crap. She fought back and gave her own piece of mind. However, there were other times that I felt like she was a little too complacent. This is just a person opinion on what I think might have kept me from fully connecting to her.

Overall, I enjoyed the story. I like the dark parts of the book. In fact, I could have gone for more but that’s the dark lover in me. I think it the right balance for those that might not be hard core dark lovers but look for a little bit more than what the average person does.

The Saving of Tess And Liam💘

Super ultimate hitman, Animal👹🔪🔫, is basically an unfeeling uncaring monster👹 of death💀. He was raised that way. He's Liam, a contract killer💀🔪🔫 for the Italian mafia. He likes fast cars🚗, guns🔫 , and loose women!💃💋
When he's not killing, he's picking up random young women💋 and laying waste to their bodies and their emotions.💔 He is stone cold devastatingly handsome🐺 and tall, the possessor of a big pistol🔫 with a nine inch barrel🍌, and he definitely knows how to use it🍌🌋.
One 🌙night he hears screaming coming from an alley. Some Russian thugs are molesting a young woman💋💔. It appears Tess belongs to a higher up Russian mobster🔫🔪 and has run away. Liam beats💪 two of the men and kills🔪🔫 the other one and takes the girl💋, for what reason he cannot fathom. He doesn't need the distraction and he's sure to end up dead💀 over the incident.
This is a relentless, violent💪🔪🔫, dirty back alley and cheap motel room kind of thriller. There's always somebody trying to kill💀 Liam🐺🔫🍌🌋✋ and Tess,💋 they are constantly on the run.
Since Liam🐺🔪🔫🍌🌋 saved Her life, Tess💋💔 now belongs to him, to be used sexually as he wants, when he wants. She is his! 💘 She is just glad to be away from the Russians and Liam🐺🍌🌋✋🔫✋ treats her as good as he can under the circumstances. Explicit xxx sex scenes 🍌🌋💋✋occur throughout the book, as well as explicit violence.🔪🔫💪
Liam🐺🍌🌋🔫 is a hard, bad🔥, naaasssty man! He's a spankster✋✋ and a hair puller, and he likes it rough! But something deep inside him makes him care💓 about Tess💋💓 and be her protector..........

The Hitman's Possession was my first book by Tia Lewis. I was surprised by how much I enjoyed this book. Liam is a Hitman working for the Bianchi crime family. He is really good at what he does. So good, in fact, he has been dubbed, The Animal. Coming home from job, he hears a woman scream. Usually, this would not bother Liam, but something pulls at him and he must investigate. What he finds is a beautiful woman being tormented by a mob of Russian thugs. Needless to say, Liam is not one to be messed with and dispatches the thugs, but things do not end there. The woman, Tess, is terrified and follows him home. Against his better judgement, Liam allows this and essentially claims Tess as his prize. How can Tess trade one thug for another? Is Liam more than he seems?

The Hitman's Possession is chock full of some dirty and gritty goodness. Liam has some demons and because of that, his character is a bit bi-polar, I think. Tess took a bit to get used to, but as the book continued on, these two characters developed well and the humor between them was just as amusing as the naughty bits were scorching. I mean, who doesn't love a mafia story, damsel in distress, unlikely hero, action, bloodbath, revenge combos? Liam's character certainly towed the line and stayed true to form the whole way through the book. He is BAD! We never really learn what made him the way he is this book. Hopefully we get more of his back story in the next book. I cannot wait to see if Tess is avenged. The Hitman's Possession has certainly left me needing the next book.

Wow. This book is dark, fast-paced and keeps you riveted from the start.

Fair warning this is a darker read, but if you are okay with that, it is worth the ride. From the start you are drawn into Liam's dark world. Nothing and no one matters to him. Ever. Until that one night. Until her.

Never the one to come to anyone's rescue, he decides to help a woman in need and finds himself drawn to her. After he saves her, he decides she belongs to him and nothing and no one will take her away. Even as many are determined to do just that. At all costs.

For the first time he is ready to fight for someone else. But not because of any noble reason, no, he justly feels she is his and no one will take her away.

Liam is not a likable guy. He is very straight forward and takes what he wants, when he wants it. But it definitely works for him. Tess is trouble. But there is something about her that drives Liam to not want to give her up. She is not trusting of the man who saves her. She questions everything, much to his annoyance.

Their are secrets, lies, and twist every which way. The story keeps you intrigued and the ending will leave you wanting more! Can't wait for book 2!

For Liam "The Animal" Hunter, life is simple. He gets the job, completes it, and he gets paid. No reason to add complications to that. However, then he hears a woman's screams and enters an alley to find Tess being attacked by Russian goons. The instant he sees her, he knows he must save her. Liam doesn't do love and feelings and messy things like that. For him, women only are useful until he is finished with them and then he walks away. This time, things are different and he can't figure out why. He can't just walk away and leave her. He knows she needs his protection and now that she is his, he won't let anyone hurt her ever again. I was so drawn into this story. Especially when he keeps hearing his younger Kevin's voice in his head. Kevin seems to serve as Liam's conscience. I like that a hardened man such as Liam has such a soft spot for Tess. He also has one for the widow in his building that was married to a man in the same line of work as he is. I also enjoyed the passion he and Tess seem to share, despite his previous thoughts of never wanting anything more.

I love everything Ms.Lewis rides. This is about a very handsome, very rugged hitman named Liam who rescues a feisty girl named Tess. Liam is a feared man however, Tess seems to be unaffected no matter how cold he is towards her or how nasty he is. He refuses to answer any of her questions and to make matters worse by saving Tess, Liams own life is now on the line. This is a dark romance so there is a fair amount of violence, if you don't like that sort of thing then this is NOT for you. I liked how it was told from Liams POV. You don't get that in many books but thats Tia for you, she always knows what the audience wants before they know it themselves! lol x Unfortunatey it ended on a cliffhanger but hopefully we won't have to wait too long for the next installment. I volunteered to read this book and so received an arc.

An alluring written dark romance novel that is flawlessly written & developed with no plot holes. The well developed character's are compelling & realistic with real emotions and flaws. Liam Hunter is a hitman in South Boston, MA who works for the Bianchi Crime Family. Tessa is the women that changes everything. The chemistry between the two main character's is undeniable & sensational. You will find action packed adventure, secrets, & twists in this highly suspensefull novel. Looking forward to reading the next book in this sensational written series. The cliffhanger leaves you craving more. I highly recommend reading this novel if you like dark romance & mafia as you will not be disappointed. I voluntarly reviewed an advanced reading copy.

This is a dark romance told completely from Liam's point of view which was a nice change. Liam Hunter aka The Animal is a hitman for the Bianchi crime family in South Boston. Tess is a naive young girl who unknowingly gets involved with a Russian crime family. The two meet when Liam saves her from a horrifying encounter, and so starts their journey to save themselves from being killed. Tess and Liam have undeniable chemistry and the story is well written, suspenseful, thrilling, and heartfelt. At first you see Tess as a victim but as the story progresses she starts to show just how strong she really is. The story leaves you wanting more and I can't wait for the next book. One word, disgusting. The book was utter crap. The H and nor the h were likeable.

H saves h from an alley where she was about to get raped from three Russian guys. She begs him that she doesn't have any place to go and maybe Russians will find her again and so H takes her with him as his 'Possession'.

He saved her from rape but what happens after they start living together at his place can be also considered as rape! He forces her to have sex, keep doing nasty things and keep saying nasty things without any filter, it's just disgusting. Why? As a repay cause he saved her!

What does author wanna tell us here? There is a difference between being submissive and forcing someone to do something, and I think author clearly failed to understand that and this crap was published later.

DNF - and most of you know, I don't do that often.

I think I was taken by the blurb, but I can tell you this isn't about a bad boy, this is about an abusive, ill tempered jackass. I got to maybe 10% of the book, realized I wanted to reach in and slap him in the face for how he treated the h. I'm done with books like this, written by authors who think abuse is "dark and sexy". Screw that, and screw the people who keep writing this type of book. Not for me and hopefully not for other women who care about how they're portrayed in print.
