Check your Amex Offers: Amazon bonus points are back for some cardmembers

American Express has recently introduced a new set of Amex Offers for targeted cardholders on eligible Amazon purchases. In this latest round of offers, some cardholders can earn an enticing bonus of up to 2 extra Membership Rewards points per eligible dollar spent on Amazon.

If you have one of these offers, you can earn bonus points by making Amazon purchases with an enrolled card between now and April 30, 2024.

TPG senior writer Tarah Chieffi found an offer on The Platinum Card® from American Express for two Amex Membership Rewards points per eligible dollar spent up to 1,000 points total.

AMERICAN EXPRESS

The 1,000-point cap means the offer only applies to up to $500 in spending. If you max it out, you'll enjoy $20 in additional value through this offer based on TPG's valuations of Amex Membership Rewards points (in addition to the standard earning rate on your card).

For example, the Amex Platinum card earns 1 Amex Membership Rewards point per dollar on most purchases, except for certain travel purchases, so with an additional 2 points per dollar, you'd earn up to 3 points per dollar.

TPG director of content Summer Hull found an even higher offer on her Amex EveryDay® Preferred Credit Card from American Express for 2 Membership Rewards points per eligible dollar spent up to 2,000 points. Her bonus offer is worth up to $40, according to our valuations.

While you should read the offer's full terms in your account, they're generally only valid for purchases made at Amazon.com and via the U.S. Amazon mobile app. Additionally, you may not receive any bonus points on the following purchases:

Excludes corporate gift card and custom-designed gift card purchases. Not valid at international sites owned and/or operated by Amazon or websites affiliated with/linked to/from Amazon.com. Excludes Prime memberships and auto-renew subscription services. Offer not valid for Amazon Go, Amazon Local, Amazon Mechanical Turk, Amazon Web Services, Amazon Home & Business Services, Amazon Currency Converter, Home Services, Prime Photos, Amazon Inspire, Amazon Video Direct, Amazon business, Amazon Global, or Amazon Drive.
