Fitz and the Tantrums 'Roll Up' video: See the exclusive premiere

Los Angeles-based Fitz and the Tantrums returned with their third album this summer. The self-titled affair saw the group, who formed in 2008 but broke out in 2010 with the Motown-influenced hit “Moneygrabber,” fully embrace a pure pop sound. Today, EW is excited to premiere the video for one of the album’s glossiest hooks, “Roll Up.”

The animated clip from Grasshorse Studios, directed by Steve Jennings features a cartoon version of Fitz as Cupid fighting off millennial dating traps to help revelers find love. Co-lead vocalist Noelle Scaggs appears as a lonely vampire, while bandmembers Joe Karnes, James King, Jeremy Ruzumna, and John Wicks get their own cartoon-treatments.

When vocalists Fitz and Scaggs (who also handles percussion) stopped by the EW offices earlier this summer, they said the transition into pure pop fulfilled many goals for the band. “With every record, we’ve always tried to evolve,” said Fitz, “and I think we felt like with this third album, we’d really come into our own. It’s almost like we’re planting a stake in the ground. We’re here. This is us: Fitz and the Tantrums.”
