Instagram account for Logan is full of clues about upcoming Wolverine movie

This one might be worth a follow

Last week, actor Hugh Jackman and director James Mangold revealed that the third installment in the Wolverine franchise would be called Logan, and an image of the script hinted that the film would focus on the “Old Man Logan” storyline. Soon after the announcement was made, a mysterious, verified Instagram account appeared under the name “wponx” that has been posting images from the upcoming film.

While an Instagram account for a new movie wouldn’t normally be news, each image seems to provide some kind of clue about what may occur in the film. Today, the team behind the account (whose name is an abbreviated version of Weapon X, the project that birthed Wolverine) posted a photo of a bathroom stall.

In the stall, the words “Where are all the mutants?” can be seen etched into the side of the panel. This could be a number of different scenarios, but it looks like it’s going to be a lonely and isolating trip for Wolverine, which isn’t too far of a stretch from what happened in “Old Man Logan.”

In a post from Wednesday captioned “Prom,” for example, a liquor sign in the background states that the scene takes place in El Paso. The team behind Logan hinted earlier this year that the film would be going south, and this all but confirmed it. Not to mention that yesterday, the account posted a photo of a car at a deserted gas station, with the caption “Rest Stop.”

In “Old Man Logan,” one of the central arcs to the story is the cross-country road trip that Logan embarks on. Although there aren’t too many clues to look for in this photo, it’s a reiteration that Mangold plans to make that aspect of the story a major plot point in the film.

Besides the clues about what’s going to happen in the movie, the photos themselves are stunning. Each one is in black and white, and despite being related to the film, don’t necessarily include any telling signs that it’s an X-Men project.

Logan, the final installment in the Wolverine franchise, hits theaters March 3, 2017.
