THE grandmother of a teenager, missing for for three weeks, says his family is going through “absolute torture”.

Scott Diver, 16, has been missing from his home in Clydebank, West Dunbartonshire, since the afternoon of Saturday, September 17.

Despite a major search and reports of further sightings, police have so far been unable to find him.

His grandmother Evelyn Diver said his family had been feeling “totally lost” since his disappearance.

She said: “He’s a big part of our family and he’s not here. Everybody’s missing him, we’ve been out looking for him everywhere.

“I just want to know he’s OK because this is just absolute torture.”

He had been planning on going back to school and his grandmother said they had no idea why he had gone missing.

She said: “He had just passed his exams and he was pleased with that.

“He was planning on coming back to school. That’s why I don’t understand why he would disappear off the face of the earth. It doesn’t make any sense to us.”

She urged people in Clydebank to keep searching for Scott and said “he’s not in any trouble.”

Ms Diver said: “He’s a quiet, complex character, very private. He has a good sense of humour when he wants to use it.

“He’s a very clever and intelligent boy but very quiet, he kept himself to himself.”

Scott is described as around 5ft 7in, of slim build, with blue eyes and dark hair.

Last week, police released CCTV images of a person believed to be Scott in Dalmuir Park at 2.53pm on the day he went missing.

When last seen he was wearing a navy blue Adidas tracksuit with light blue stripes down the arms and legs, a white T-shirt and navy blue Adidas training shoes with grey stripes.
