Battle At The Birthplace Announcement

Princeton wrestling head coach Chris Ayres joined Rutgers head coach Scott Goodale Tuesday night in a Meet & Greet event to promote the Nov. 19 "Battle At The Birthplace" showdown inside High Point Solutions Stadium at Rutgers. The outdoors match, scheduled to begin at 11 am, will be held prior to the Rutgers-Penn State football game later that evening.

Ayres and Goodale met at Moore's Tavern & Sports Bar in Freehold to join local fans and speak to media in promotion of the outsoor showdown, which is now less than six weeks away.

"It was great to be out with the New Jersey wrestling community tonight and see the excitement for this great event," Ayres said. "We've been excited about this match from Day 1, but it's gratifying to see that the community shares our excitement. It's going to be a terrific event, and we believe it's going to be an exciting match. Returning All-Americans, nationally ranked wrestlers and a number of New Jersey state champions and placewinners will be inside High Point Solutions Stadium Nov. 19."

Tickets are $10 for adults, $8 for children and $6 for groups of 20 or more. You can purchase them through ScarletKnights.com or by calling 1-866-445-GORU (4678).
