This is my first time to read an actual DC Comic book (which is idk AN ACHIEVEMENT AAAHHHHH) so pls bear with my amateur ass. I've been in love with Raven's character ever since I watched Teen Titans which is why this is a perfect fit for my first DC read! This one is about Raven's journey away from the titans after some vague happenings (which I could have known if I read the preceding volumes XD) and her reintegration with *drumrolls*.

High School.

This was fun to read and I love the graphics so much! I'm quite excited where this one goes.

Really actually enjoyed this. So much I might keep picking it up instead of waiting for the trade. We'll see!

'Raven #1' by Marv Wolfman takes place somewhere before Teen Titans Rebirth issue 1. I'm not as familiar with this character, but I liked the issue.

Raven has a dad who is a demon, but that's not the worst thing she'll face in this issue. She has decided to take a break from the team and move in with family in San Francisco. She's definitely different from her aunt and her aunt's family. She also finds herself in a high school with a bunch of kids. She stands out like a dark shadow, but she might also be the only thing standing between them and danger.

She's kind of a fun character in a goth-girl way. I like the situations she gets into in this issue, and I'd like to know more about this character.

I received a review copy of this issue from DC Entertainment and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you for allowing me to review this comic book.

Reseñado en mi blog Nanny Books

Amo a Raven.

¿Podrá enfrentarse a ello sola?

When I first heard that Marv Wolfman was doing a Raven book, I knew I needed to read it. I'm glad I was able to.

This story picks up with the break up of the teen titans? I guess. and the death of a prominent member (Which I heard rumblings about, but wasn't sure. No spoliers)
Raven is living with her Aunt and trying to balance an everyday life in what she finds a foreign and strange world. When she discovers something isn't quite right.

This was a fantastic first issue, and I'm definitely interested in seeing what happens next.
Definitely read this if you're a Raven fan.

I received an advanced copy of this from NetGalley.com and the publisher

This was an... interesting title. I've always really loved Raven as a character from the Teen Titan's tv show (the original I should say), however I think the comics version is a lot different. I think the main reason I did't rate this higher was because of the ending, which was weird and a bit... dissonant with the rest of the issue.

I always loved the character of Raven with the old Teen Titans show, and was gifted this from a friend to read. While it is interesting to see her as the main focus, my lack of knowledge of the comics continuity rather than the shows made it feel a bit disjointed to me, like picking up a story halfway through, rather than any sort of origin story or beginning point to jump off of. That does work given the nature of Raven trying to learn more about her past in this, but not knowing as a reader what this iteration of raven is capable of or knows can make things feel a little confusing jumping in from being a tv show fan and nothing else. Other than that it is a good read and if you’re more up to date on the comic universe then I’m sure it’s an interesting story.

So I love raven. and I'm really happy they got all the Latin and the prayers correct. That's impressive. I feel like having everyone forget the whole thing was kinda a cop out, but like you do you boo, and all that shit. It was good tho, and I did like the storyline, and I'm happy they kinda tied in the whole Tim dying and than the storyline continues.

There's a hint of interesting potential with the main enemy plot, but it was too little to late. I found the majority of this boring and slow, and I had to force myself to finish reading this first issue. I wont continue reading this series.

It's a good start to the 6 part series. Raven stays with her aunt and attends high school. Several students start acting odd, and an ominous carnival comes to town.

I find it intriguing that Wolfman wanted to bring Raven to High School. And the first installment of this miniseries gives me an idea of why he wanted to tell this story.

I'm just as confused as her classmates!

But what I know about Raven is limited from Teen Titans way on back on Cartoon Network, and I'm still confused on what's happening here. You see, this comic is obviously directed to the young and goth new reader crowd, but also to us nostalgic oldies that want to see Raven like from the show, and not Raven, massively slutty. Either way, the story and art are a bit confusing. Does this make sense to the fans? Am I being impatient?

Anyways, I'm totally down to see Raven interacting with her "normal" family and enjoying the love and care they express. That scene where she woke up screaming from a dream and the whole family piles in to check on her - ohhhh my heart!

I have high hopes for this series and can't wait for more!

I FREAKED when I saw a solo Raven comic. I have always loved this character. This first issue was not the best I've ever seen, but I did enjoy it, and I cannot wait to see what is done with it.

Excellent first issue and probably one that will be sitting on my shelf. Clever concept and a character that is criminally underrated. This is how characters should be done.

This kicks off my favourite Teen Titan's solo series with an interesting mystery. I have no idea what's going on with "Rachel Roth" at this point but there's potential here.

I like Raven in teen titans. So glad she got her own series. I can't wait to learn all about the aunt. She moves and is staying with her aunt she never knew about. After attending her first day of school things turn hectic. I am hoping she finds out soon what's going on.
