American Horror Story: A Rundown of the Characters We've Met in Roanoke

This season, Rabe appears speaking to the camera, documentary-style, as a woman named Shelby.

In the premiere, Paulson plays a "dramatic reenactment" version of Shelby. Later, we find out her character's real name: Audrey Tindall.

Holland (The Knick) plays Shelby's husband, Matt, who is also being interviewed about his experiences with the supernatural.

Meanwhile, Gooding Jr. stars as playboy Dominic, who is playing the alternate version of Matt.

Porter (The 100) plays Lee, Matt's ex-cop sister.

Bassett plays Monet Tumusiime, the actress who starred as Lee.

Jordan joins the reenactment in the third episode as a medium named Cricket.

Bates plays Agnes Mary Winstead, an actress who goes batty after playing The Butcher in the show within the show.

Bentley is Dylan, an actor who plays Thomasin's son, Ambrose.

Lady Gaga plays some sort of malevolent woodland spirit or entity known as the Scáthach, in the reenactment. This character also has a real-life counterpart.

AHS alum O'Hare plays a crazy-looking professor in a found-footage tape. We haven't officially met the real Elias, but we've seen him on a tape.

Whitfield plays Lee's husband in the dramatic reenactment. We'll probably never get to meet the real guy, because, well, he's dead.

Rakes makes an appearance as one half of a sister duo who kill elderly people. The "real" version of this character is even more terrifying.

Berko is playing Miranda, the other crazy nurse, on the show. We're not sure who plays the "real" Miranda, but we have seen her.

Little Sidney also starred in Roots this year, and she's playing "Lee"'s daughter in the dramatic reenactment, "Flora."

Peters originally appears as Edward Mott, then it's revealed that he's an actor named Rory Monahan.

Jackson plays the cynical, cold-hearted TV producer Sidney.

Lucio (True Blood) stars in one episode as Diana, Sidney's unnerved assistant.

Finally, the first family of cannibalism: the Polks. Frances Conroy plays the mother in the reenactment, but the real people are straight-up horrifying. Finn Wittrock stars as Jether, one of the real Polk kids.
