Audi has been filmed pushing the impending RS3 Sedan to its limits at the Nurburgring ahead of a launch next year.

While the company has remained tight-lipped about the car, its existence was confirmed earlier in the year at an Audi Summit for the company’s American employees.

Power for the car will come from a 2.5-liter turbocharged five-cylinder engine, just like the RS3 Sportback and TT RS. However, power is expected to rise slightly over the hatchback with a figure nearer 400 hp expected. As always, drive will be sent exclusively through all four wheels courtesy of a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission with paddle shifters.

Thanks to its extra punch, the RS3 sedan will prove a close rival to the Mercedes-AMG CLA45 and as evidenced by this video, the firm’s engineers are keen to perfect the model before it is launched to the world.

For the first time, the RS3 will available in the U.S. market but it isn’t yet known what other countries will welcome the sedan.
