Still reeling after killing the man she loved, Atropos turns her attention to the twin tasks of avenging his death and freeing humanity from the deadly grip of the Keres. When she sets out on a murderous mission to retrieve her shears, her only aide is her temperamental ex-boyfriend, Ares. He is fickle at best, traitorous at worst, and assistance from him may be worse than none at all.

Along the way, she allies with a group of powerful supernaturals and learns that the crimes of the gods are more twisted and far-reaching than she realized. What begins as a quest for vengeance becomes a journey through betrayal, loss, love, and hope. It ignites a war that will pit Atropos against the gods in a battle for the freedom of humanity.

Avenging Fate is the second book in The Threads of Moirae Series by Jennifer Derrick.

I became a writer at the age of six when my parents bought me a child’s typewriter for Christmas and agreed to pay me a penny per page for any stories I churned out.

When I got older, I realized that I needed to make (much) more money from my writing so I first turned to the corporate world (where I learned that I am spectacularly unsuited to cubicle life) and ultimately to freelancing where I now write everything from technical manuals to articles on personal finance and European-style board games.

My writing career came full circle when Clean Teen Publishing accepted Broken Fate, my first novel. By my calculations, my parents owe me about $3.00 for that book.

I live in North Carolina and, when not writing, can often be found reading anything I can get my hands on, playing board games, watching sports, camping, running marathons, and playing with my dog.

I think I'm going to go 3.5 on this one. I have very mixed feelings about it. I will definitely say that this is a more intense and in-depth sequel than I was expecting. The focus was more on action and consequence on a grander scale than the previous book, which focused mainly on ripping your heart out. There was more development with characters, new additions to the story, new angles, and new locations. I really enjoyed all time spent with the Amazons and found this to be a pretty engaging read. However, I'm not going to lie: I skipped a chapter around the middle. I know, I know, I'm awful and still giving AVENGING FATE a decent rating. The truth is that the group faced a decision and came up with a solution that I could not stand for. It was far too extreme for the tone of the book and I knew that if I had read that chapter, I would have hated every character and stopped reading the series all together. Even now, I cannot condone what they did. That isn't to say there isn't remorse and it's not thrown in their faces, but it was completely unnecessary. All that said, I again can't deny that I had a pretty good time reading AVENGING FATE. That one part aside, it was what I expected and a little more tender on my emotions than before. Hopefully the trend carries on!

I can’t rate it as high as the first one because I didn’t think the writing was as good - too many cliches and it felt more childish somehow. But I am still very into the story and I can’t wait to read the final book in the trilogy. I love this interpretation of Atropos! She’s such a badass while being extremely compassionate. Wonderful!

Where Broken Fate set the board and ultimately led to the fall of Death Fate. Avenging Fate brings us forward into a world thrown into chaos. Jennifer Derrick explores how manipulation, betrayal and love can have global consequences.

The author branches out from the affairs of gods and the humans who toil on Earth. These new elements really make her world shine! Jennifer Derrick breathes life into a plethora of new characters, some with backgrounds shrouded in mystery. She also brings forth creatures of myth who both managed to surprise me and kept me wanting more.

Avenging Fate ended at a good point for this continuing tale. The various threads were tied up nicely, but it left things open for another sequel (or more). Alas, I will have to wait until the next book is released to find out more.

I certainly look forward to it!

Wow, this author has yet to disappoint me in her style of writing, and this story is no different. I was so hooked to the story that I devoured it in 12 hours. There was a lot that this author had to cover in this book and she did a remarkable job in bringing forth each scene as they happened. There was so many shocking turn of events and many twists and turns throughout the entire story and also many amazing secrets too. I still love the characters and how the story turned out, but I am now curious about how the author plans on topping this story. The war has begun, so who will win and who will die? I highly recommend this story to all YA and YA at heart.

Clean Teen Publishing provided me with a digital ARC copy of the book for review purposes only as part of the Clean Teen Publishing Elite Street Team. No remuneration was exchanged.

Atropos finds unlikely allies to help her with her fight against the Keres and to find her magical shears before Zeus's deadline comes up. She's greatly surprised many times along the way. I enjoyed this story for the way the author takes Greek myths and makes them her own. I loved the first book with Atropos falling for Alex, and I loved what the author does to continue Atropos' story. I think my favorite character is Hades. He's so funny to me without trying to be. He's an unlikely ally which makes me like him more. Looking forward to see how the trilogy ends..

This book was even better than the first as this story line continues to evolve and has more action. This author weaves a fantastic tale full of intrigue, action, adventure and her world building contains to explode and brings the story to life right in front of your eyes. I cannot wait to delve into the next book.

Excellent!!

I feel like ever word written in this series so far was perfect.
The direction of the story is completely not what I expected, and I love that!
Sometimes as you read a book things can get a little predictable, this is not that book! There are changes and new characters, surprises and twists... you will be kept on your toes!!
I can't wait to see how the story evolves!

This is an excellent book! so much action I love the way the author has brought Greek Mythology to life in these books . Well written story with an excellent plot and I cant wait to read next one when it comes out. I wont give anything away about the story, but if you are into mythology and action adventure you would like this series.
