Flash, Arrow, Supergirl and Legends of Tomorrow take on Dominators in crossover

The ‘80s are back in style

DC Comics

Last year, the Flash and Arrow teamed up to take on the villainous Vandal in a special crossover event. This year, the two will be joined by the heroes of Legends of Tomorrow and Supergirl to take on an enemy straight out of the 1980s.

The CW confirmed today that the different heroes will combine their powers to defend the world from an alien species known as Dominators. The Dominators first appeared in DC comics through a crossover series called Invasion! that pit the aliens against a group of superheroes after vexxing the Legion of Superheroes.

According to Entertainment Weekly, the Dominators were also responsible for recruiting another alien race called the Daxamites. If that name sounds at all familiar, that’s the same group of aliens that Supergirl’s Mon-El belonged to in the first season of the show. With Supergirl joining both the CW and the crossover event this season, it looks like the Daxamites will be the thing that brings her together with her other DC hero comrades.

Executive producer Marc Guggenheim said that the CW was planning on using movie-quality CGI and prosthetics to make the crossover feel as big as it can. The addition of Supergirl and the Legends of Tomorrow crew makes this the biggest team-up in the network’s history.

The Flash, which marks the kickoff of the CW’s new superhero season, debuts on Oct. 4 at 8 p.m. ET.
