THANKS to Mrs Taylor of Dorchester, we have a couple of Eldridge Pope brewery staff photos to share with you.
They come from Out of Working Hours, a newsletter documenting the activities of workers at Eldridge Pope in the county town.
It would appear that staff members at the brewery played on a sports ground which was sold and resulted in a final 'challenge match' between Paul Nicholass' and Doug Stevens' teams, the last to be played on the Company Sports Ground.
The newsletter reports that 'a good game, in bad, cold conditions resulted in a win by Paul Nicholas's XI by four goals to two, however, injuries did rob Doug's team of star players. At least that is what he told me!'
