LINUX GAMING
A game that many Linux gamers have been waiting months to see has finally been released on Steam for Linux: Rocket League.

For those unfamiliar with the game, it's self-described as, "Soccer meets driving once again in the long-awaited, physics-based multiplayer-focused sequel to Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars! Choose a variety of high-flying vehicles equipped with huge rocket boosters to score amazing aerial goals and pull-off incredible game-changing saves!"

Interesting, the SteamOS + Linux system requirements for Rocket League on Linux list requirements lower than on Windows.... They recommend a minimum of a GeForce 8800 or Radeon HD 2900 while recommended is a GeForce GTX 260 or Radeon HD 5850 or newer. Strangely thouygh they list "Windows Vista" as a Linux system requirement (strangely, not a copy-paste of the Windows data and even under the Windows section they mention Windows 7).

So not too sure what the real Linux system requirements are. The game is currently 25% off so I guess I'll pick it up tonight and try to run some quick driver tests; unfortunately not aware of any benchmark mode for Rocket League.

Those wanting to learn more about Rocket League can visit the Steam Store.
