    Hello all ,

    I just spoke with a very special someone at WIND Canada and found out the the DTEK50 comes into their system on August 19th. The person could not confirm how many were arriving or what locations would be getting them , but officially the word came in through their sales Memos.

    This is a VERY reliable source and I can take this to the bank that WIND IS getting the phone and should be on or around that date specifically.

    I was very pleased to obtain this news recently and thought I would share with all WIND users here.

    Starting today, DTEK50 is available to pre-order from ShopBlackBerry.com in the US, Canada, UK, France, Germany, Spain, Italy and The Netherlands for $299 USD. DTEK50 will be available in a number of channels around the world, including more than 40 partners from electronics stores, carriers, VARs and distributors. This includes Rogers, Bell, TELUS, WIND, Videotron and SaskTel among others in Canada. In the U.S., DTEK50 will initially be available in Best Buy, B&H and Amazon. Availability of DTEK50 in additional global channels and countries will be announced in the coming weeks.
    Nice to have a date though.

    I was worried after Thurber stated the big 3 etc ... so I called my contact and " THEY " gave me the info ... I need to get 3 between family and friends .. and they are all on WIND so it was crucial to get a firm yes or no.

    How have Canadian carriers been with monthly security updates on the Priv? Considering a carrier purchase for the DTEK, possibly through WIND depending on their pricing/update record.

    I am not the best person to answer this one ... I only owned a priv briefly. I was under the impression that Blackberry was providing the security updates directly to consumers .. Am I wrong about this ?

    Not sure about wind but seems like the big 3 have been pretty consistent.

    This was a little more vague ... The person stated anywhere between 350 and 450....

    Looking at their other pricing , they tend to be on the high end .. Priv is 899 there still .. I think they drop things from time to time ... The LEAP is about 360 ish right now .... It's the same price point .. I am going to hope for 399 max , but we'll see ..

    I'm with Wind and get the updates on my Priv (purchased from Wind) , at the same time as released to the other 3 in Canada.
