Patrick Wilson is joining Liam Neeson in The Commuter, the latest action collaboration between director Jaume Collet-Serra and Neeson.
The move also reteams Wilson with his Conjuring 2 star Vera Farmiga, who is the female lead of the Studiocanal-backed project which will be distributed by Lionsgate.
The Picture Company’s Andrew Rona and Alex Heineman are producing.
The script, by Philip de Blasi and Byron Willinger, centers on an insurance salesman (Neeson) in the midst of his daily commute who is forced by a mysterious stranger (Farmiga) to uncover the identity of a passenger before the train’s last stop.
Wilson has a key role in the thriller, playing the salesman’s trusted friend who helps him along the way.
The Commuter is the fourth movie Collet-Serra has done with Neeson after Unknown, Non-Stop and Run All Night. The pic currently is shooting in London.
Wilson is coming off starring in one of this summer’s biggest hits, The Conjuring 2, where he reprised his role of paranormal investigator Ed Warren (Farmiga plays his wife). The New Line horror sequel has grossed over $318 million worldwide.
Wilson, repped by CAA and Anonymous Content, next appears opposite Michael Keaton in The Founder.
