4 killed in police anti-drugs operations in Quezon City, Manila


Four people were killed in separate police anti-drugs operations in Quezon City and Manila, early Wednesday.

Two of the fatalities were identified as a certain Buboy Samosa of La Loma, Quezon City and Darwin Roldan of Pandacan, Manila.

Police said Samosa was killed along with two other unidentified men in a buy-bust operation in Barangay San Jose, La Loma at around 2:30 a.m.

Senior Police Officer 2 Ram Relox, chief of investigations of Quezon City Police District's Station 1, said Samosa and the two other suspects sensed the police entrapment and allegedly fired at policemen.

The policemen fired back, killing the three suspects, Relox said.

Police said they seized three sachets of of suspected shabu and three firearms, including two .45 pistols and a .38 revolver.

Carlito Cabuso, deputy ex-o of Barangay San Jose, said Samosa is a known drug user in their barangay.

Cabuso added that Samosa declined to surrender when authorities approached him under the police's Oplan Tokhang.

Meanwhile, Roldan was killed in a buy-bust operation in Pandacan.

Senior Inspector Rafael Melencio, Labores police community precinct commander, said Roldan was also killed after shooting at policemen to escape the buy-bust operation.

Melencio said their operatives seized four sachets of suspected shabu, drug paraphernalia and a .38 revolver from Roldan.

Roldan's family, meanwhile, denied that fired a gun at policemen.

"Mamatay na kaming lahat, walang baril ang tiyuhin ko. Andyan lang bahay namin. tinatakot nila lahat ng tao dito," a niece of Roldan told GMA News. —ALG, GMA News
