Aimed mainly at the Chinese and US markets, VW’s long wheelbase 2017 Tiguan was spotted out and about in Germany this week.

Just like with the white one that one of our readers caught in the US, this one is also missing any sort of camouflage, allowing us to fully take in its sporty lines and exposed front end, which doesn’t seem to differ that much from the one on the regular model anymore.

This could indicate that VW might be looking to insert this car into European markets as well, but at this point it would be pure speculation.

In terms of size, we know that this model will ride on a 4.33 in (11 cm) stretched wheelbase compared to the regular Tiguan, offering its passengers a roomier interior and a more spacious boot thanks to the longer rear overhang.

The LWB Tiguan should be available with most if not all of the regular model’s power units, though we’ll have to wait and see how VW plans on distributing the engines across select markets – such as the US for example where the Dieselgate scandal could influence which engines go into not just this car, but all of VW’s future models.

One final thing we can take away from these spy images is the dual-tone wheel design, which is identical to what we saw in one of the earliest LWB Tiguan spots that came from China back in July.
