Pre-pandemic when I was deciding which law firm to choose; I faced a very difficult decision between the Hassell Law Group and a larger and highly rated and reviewed law firm out of Monterey, CA. It took me a while to choose between the two law firms. The larger law firm even tried to convince me to pick them; by stating that they would be able to win my case quicker; since they were larger, had more attorneys, and thus more resources to be able to devote to my case - as opposed to a smaller sized firm like the Hassell Law Group. I have to admit that this argument the bigger firm made, for why I should go with them -- was quite persuasive. But at the time, after thinking about my potential case with more care and thought. I realized that it would be challenging, nuanced, and unique - not qualities that would make for a standard quick or easy win. And the more that I pondered over the particularities of my case; the more I began to see a bigger firm, with higher cases and client loads, not as an asset but as a liability to my case. As the more cases a bigger firm has; the less each individual case matters to them, notably a challenging case like mine with an opaque outcome. And I did not want to "not matter" to my law firm. And so I realized that neither the speed or the size of a law firm were the deciding factors for me. Instead what mattered was that "I would matter" to my attorneys; especially when the going got tough. It wasn't about the large size nor speed, but about the dedication, expertise, individualized and creative approach, and care that my attorneys would show to me throughout my case.

And because of these reasons I choose the "smaller" but more tailored Hassell Law Group. And in the end - Hassell was the right choice. I am very grateful and happy that I chose them. If you want that personal touch to your case, and if you want to matter to your intelligent, experienced, and tenacious attorneys, go with the Hassell Law Group... go with Dawn Hassell and Lisa Villasenor.

It's a frustrating and stressful process because you know that picking the right attorneys is a critical choice that you'll have to soon make. And if you are lucky enough to be able to meet with Lisa for an initial consultation, then you will soon begin to pick up on all the positive attributes that I wrote about here. So go for an initial consultation, the last time I checked it was free of monetary charge. Worst case it's better to lose an hour or two of your time and energy on a free consultation then to potentially lose out on having great and determined lawyers on your side for your personal injury case.
