Even with the Republican National Convention in full swing, the drama created (or, rather, extended) when Kim Kardashian posted Snapchat videos Sunday night of Kanye West telling Taylor Swift about his intended lyrics for “Famous” was too delicious for late night hosts to ignore. Enter James Corden.

After picking his jaw off the floor following a clip of the now infamous video, Corden quipped, “Here’s the question: Does Kim Kardashian ever record anything where someone doesn’t get screwed?” Of course, he wasn’t going to leave it at that, and soon cut to a clip of a (fictional) conversation he and West had that the rapper also “recorded.”

“I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex,” West began after Corden picked up “Yeezus on line 1.”

“Taylor Swift? Isn’t she mad at you from when you interrupted her on the stage at the VMAs?” Corden asked. “I don’t even know if she’s with someone right now. I could check on the internet, but she’s super-private about that kind of stuff. She really doesn’t let people know what’s going on with her personal life, so if I was you, I would just let it go.”

The conversation continued with Corden asking West if he should tell a joke about Donald Trump’s running mate, Mike Pence, and the clip cut to West saying, “Relationships are more important than punchlines, you know?”

Get more of their faux back and forth, including Corden’s reaction when he realized West was recording the conversation, in the video below.
