Asemota earns PAC 12 offer

Sherman Oaks (Calif.) Notre Dame wide receiver Tyler Asemota earned an offer from Oregon State following a recent camp with the Beavers.

Oregon State's coaching staff participated in a satellite camp at El Camino and that's where they had the opportunity to evaluate Asemota.

The 6-foot-4, 200-pound receiver is a player they had been keeping an eye on for some time and he didn't disappoint.

"I've been in contact with a few of the coaches," Asemota said. "I've been hearing from them a lot. I've gotten some mail from them and they've definitely been showing some interest. But since I missed my junior season they wanted to see me in live action.

"I went to one of their local camps and pretty much right when they saw me there at the camp after a few minutes they seemed extremely interested," Asemota said. "Right after the camp I gave the coach a call and they offered."

Asemota told BeaverBlitz.com that the coaches liked his speed in particular.

"I don't think they were expecting me to be that quick for my size," he said.

The coaches were obviously impressed with Asemota and he was impressed with the staff in turn.

"I got a really good feel for what the coaches are all about," he said. "It was really cool being able to get in touch with the coaches from Oregon State. It was really fun up there."

Asemota said he's "definitely planning on" visiting Oregon State, especially now that the coaches have offered.

He has already visited Colorado for a camp this summer. He called his trip to Boulder "really nice," and said he was impressed with the campus and everything he saw.

Football has started at Notre Dame High School and so Asemota is done with visits for the summer.
