Supergirl‘s” upcoming move from Los Angeles to Vancouver will result in changes to the weather and the cast lineup for Season 2 — former series regular Calista Flockhart will be reducing her appearances in the sophomore season, having signed on as a recurring guest star as the show shifts to a new shooting location and network.

Flockhart will appear in multiple episodes beginning with the Season 2 premiere, which bows October 10 on The CW.

“‘Supergirl’ wouldn’t be ‘Supergirl’ without the amazing Calista Flockhart as Cat Grant. We are so excited Calista has agreed to continue on the show when she can. We and the audience love to see her on screen,” said “Supergirl” executive producer Andrew Kreisberg in a statement.

New cast additions in Season 2 include Tyler Hoechlin as Superman/Clark Kent, Ian Gomez as Snapper Carr — a journalist hired by Cat Grant to be the editor-in-chief of CatCo Magazine — and Floriana Lima as Detective Maggie Sawyer. “Wonder Woman” star Lynda Carter will also appear as the President of the United States.

“Supergirl” released a first look at Hoechlin in costume as Superman last week, and executive producer Sarah Schechter gave some hints about what to expect from Season 2 at Comic-Con.
