Pluscarden Abbey abuse allegations investigated

Allegations of historical child abuse at Pluscarden Abbey in Moray are being investigated by police.

Officers from Police Scotland have begun inquiries into a report of "non-recent abuse" at the retreat near Elgin.

The investigation was said to be at a "very early stage".

In a statement, Police Scotland said it would investigate "all forms of child abuse regardless of when incidents had occurred".
