tuesday tip

Every business needs a website these days and it needs to be mobile-friendly since phones have surpassed desktop use for browsing.  It is almost impossible to get a website design today that isn't also responsive.  But what is the difference between a responsive site and a mobile-friendly one?

A responsive site is a website that snaps to the size of the user's device so they are able to see the whole site without scrolling sideways.  It's a good start, but the numbers show that mobile visitors buy and sign up less often than those on desktop computers.  The main reason being that many sites are not mobile-friendly enough.

Think of an app.  There is little text with big buttons. This is how your mobile site should look.

A mobile site should:

  • be easy to read

  • easy and quick to fill out forms

  • intuitive menus and navigation

  • buttons large enough for big fingers

  • clickable phone number so you can be called with just a touch

What now?

Ask your customers what they like and don't like about your mobile site.  What parts are the most difficult to navigate?

As always, Virtual Vision is here to help you optimize and improve your online presence.
