Highly sought after Lucas Torreira’s agent Pablo Bentancur has spoken on what the future could hold for his client while confirming that Napoli lead the way currently when it comes to getting his signature.
The 22-year-old Uruguayan midfielder’s continued good performances have earned him rave reviews and a wealth of interest, including from Inter and a number of the elite European teams.
“We met Cristiano Giuntoli [Napoli’s sporting director] two or three times,” he revealed to Radio Crc. “We are in talks and Napoli is in pole position but there is no agreement because the player does not want to make a decision right away. We have to talk and fix the details, but yes, I can say that the possibility of signing with Napoli is frowned upon, but the deal is not closed. I have to check everything and even image rights.”
He concluded, “I can say that Torreira will leave Sampdoria, but for what price you will have to talk to the club.”
