If I am buying a shortfill that is 70VG do I buy a 70VG nic shot for it and if I buy an 80VG shortfill do I buy a 60VG nic shot for it?

Generally, you need the nic to be at the same ratio as the shortfill, in order for the juice to remain at the same ratio after the nic is added.

Unless, that is, you are using a site like DripworX, who sells 100 VG nic shots and blends his shortfills to achieve 70/30 VG/PG after the nic is added (which means the shortfill is not actually 70/30, but is designed to end up at 70/30 VG/PG after 10ml of 100 VG nic is added!)

cool thamks.

I was ordering some 80vg shortfills and 70vg shortfills so wanted to clar up that I needed 70VG nic and 80VG nic to go with them.

If in doubt or you you want an all rounder then a 50VG/50PG nic shot won't make a lot of difference to your final mix.

that said, it depends on how large your short-fills are, 60ml will be affected more than a 100ml if that makes sense.

I proper messed up some 250ml Bottle Shots by adding 43ml 100% VG nicotine shots and lost a lot of flavour, if I added 50/50 or 100PG I would have had my desired flavour.

Personally I now add 100% PG nic shots as it ups the flavour more and I don't care the cloud.

When you get into mixing your own then it actually gets easier to work out.

I don't know how much you know about PG/VG but basic lesson I learnt on this forum is:
VG = produces more vapour cloud and is thicker.
PG = carries flavour better and is thinner (less cloud)

I'm no expert but this is from my experience as I use short-fills a lot and favour flavour over vapour.

i just buy a box of 50/50 nic shots from darkstar and have had no issues or flavor loss with 70/30 or 80/20 shortfills.
