Ones To Watch: Fragile Things

The first band we’re shining the spotlight on in 2018 are Bristol-based rock powerhouses Fragile Things.

Fragile Things are Richie Hevanz (vocals), Mark Hanlon (guitar), Steve Lathwell (bass) and Hugo Bowman (drums).

Starkly juxtaposing their somewhat dainty name, Fragile Things serve up muscular, immense and instantly infectious songs that sound like they’ve been custom built to consume vast stadia. Based in Bristol, the quartet released their epic debut single ‘Broken Sun’ in May 2016 – lifted from the EP of the same name - and they have spent the subsequent 18 months relentlessly touring across the length and breadth of the UK, winning over fans and critics alike.

Poised to release their second EP ‘Echo Chambers’ in February, we were so impressed with the glorious offshoot single ‘Disappear’ that we instantly added it to the Planet Rock playlist. An uplifting rock gem of the highest calibre that perfectly showcases Richie Hevanz’s powerful pipes and the band’s deft eye for a towering tune, if Fragile Things keep up the ante with their future releases then a glittering career surely beckons. Check them out next month at their EP launch gigs in Doncaster and Lewes, together with Planet Rock presents Winter’s End!
