Coming from an iPhone 8+, my typing and mistakes are still very poor compared to the iphone typing experience.

I downloaded swiftkey but not much difference. Also tried enlarging the keys but still the same.

Is it just a case of experience and time? Or is there a better keyboard to use?

I used to swear by Swiftkey. But started experiencing lag issues with it. And apparently that was becoming a common issue. Been using Gboard and it works well.

I'm currently using the stock keyboard, but have had good luck with Touchpal's Leather keyboard. Only issue with them is they have some ads. I haven't really messed around much with keyboards, but may try a few other ones out. I'm very picky with how they look I like the stock keyboard because it will show my theme behind it - currently have a leather theme that shows on my backgrounds - like it a lot.

I recommend learning how to do you glide input on Gboard. I've been "typing" this way for years dating back to when Swype keyboard was new.

For me it's much faster and much more accurate versus regular typing. It's also a joy to do it. Ha

Whichever one you choose definitely give swipe typing a try. Once you get used to it it's hard to go back to regular typing. Make sure you go through the settings to make sure you have everything setup to your liking. I even do it on my iPhone also.

I install Gboard on every Android device. Also Gboard learns your habits fairly quickly and soon you will find it good enough to match the suggestions offered by the iOS keyboard helping you on your Android transition.
Good luck OP.

I agree. I miss URL suggestions, space after comma and all input area suggestions.
But Gboard now support my language, have better suggestions (than what it used to) and is faster.

Gboard by a long ways, distant second choice would probably be SwiftKey, but it's been going downhill over the last 3 years and Gboard is widening the gap.
