Adorable Animal Macarons Turn the Classic French Pastry Into an Edible Zoo

Adorable Animal Macarons are Almost Too Cute to Eat

Throughout the years, we’ve marveled at delectable desserts that seem almost too good to eat. Last month, unicorn macarons caught our eye as a magical way to enjoy the sweet treat. Building on that trend is Melly Eats World, who creates just-as-adorable animal macarons. Pandas, pigs, monkeys, and cats are all paid tribute through the fine French pastry. And through these charming characters, they offer a bit of whimsy to the notoriously finicky dessert.

The macaron’s crisp outer shell makes for an ideal canvas for handcrafting the edible creatures. Using special templates and tiny paintbrushes, Melly’s pastries feature button noses and blushing cheeks—something unexpected for an ordinary cookie. But, as Melly demonstrates, these are extraordinary indulgences. In addition to the faces, Melly decorates the back of the animal macarons, too. Flip the pastry over and you’ll find their corresponding tails.

If you’re local to Toronto, you can enjoy Melly’s animal macarons in person. Outside of the city, however, you’ll have to enjoy them from afar on Instagram.

Melly Eats World creates animal macarons that are just as fun on the front…
