CNBC says Romney will run for Orrin Hatch's seat
After more than 40 years in the Senate, Orrin Hatch announced today he will step down at the end of this year.
That vacates a seat in Mitt Romney's home state. He's popular there and is likely to run, a source told CNBC.
Romney has feuded with the President repeatedly. White he's a reliable Republican establishment figure, he's not a foot soldier and could complicate the second-half of Trump's term, especially since the split is now 51-49 in favor of Republicans after the Alabama election of Doug Jones.
