Train services at Visakhapatnam Railway Station's platforms No. 3 and 4 have resumed after repairs on the Foot Over Bridge. Chief Engineers oversaw the process, including girder span replacement. East Coast Railway HQ initiated a 10-day inspection of 84 Foot over Bridges.

A special Holi train will run between Visakhapatnam and Nizamuddin, benefiting Chhattisgarh passengers with 19 coaches. It will operate on specific dates, departing at designated times and making stops in the state.

Railways decided to extend the weekly special trains including Vizag-Kurnool-Vizag and Bhubaneswar-Tirupati-Bhubaneswar. Visakhapatnam- Kurnool City (08585) special train will leave Visakhapatnam at 5.35pm on Tuesdays on January 16, 23, and January 30 of which will reach Kurnool City on the next day at 1.25pm. In the return direction, the Kurnool City -Visakhapatnam (08586) Special train will leave Kurnool City at 3.30 pm on Wednesdays on January 17, 24, and January 31, which will reach Visakhapatnam on the next day at 09.50 am.

Railways introduce special trains between Chennai Central and Bhubaneswar to accommodate increased passenger demand. Departing from Chennai on Mondays and Bhubaneswar on Tuesdays, with stops at key stations. Operating until April 29th.

Former member of the Zonal Railway Users Consultative Committee in East Coast Railway, N Gajapathi Rao, wrote a letter to Union Minister for Railways Ashini Vishnaw. He requested the rerouting of 14 express trains that bypass Visakhapatnam Railway Station and go directly to Vizianagaram and Duvvada. Rao emphasized the need to divert these trains through Visakhapatnam Railway Station or convert the crew change halt at Simhachalam North into a regular stop. He also highlighted the importance of developing the North Simhachalam Station to be more commuter-friendly.

In order to provide a comfortable journey to the passengers during summer, East Coast Railway has decided to extend the services of weekly special trains from Visakhapatnam to Varanasi (No.8588) and Varanasi to Visakhapatnam (08587).

The Railways will operate un-reserved special trains to clear extra rush of passengers between Ernakulam–Hatia and also increase the frequency between Tatanagar-Ernakulam-Tatanagar express, besides permanent augmentation of coaches to Humsafar express. Ernakulam–Hatia Un-Reserved Special (06131) will leave Ernakulam at 11 pm on December 22, 29, and January 5. The train would reach Duvvada on the third day at 00.12 hrs and would reach Hatia on the same day at 4.45 pm. Hatia – Ernakulam Un-Reserved Special (06132) will leave Hatia at 11.30 am on December 26, January 2, and January 9.

A passenger train derailed in Andhra Pradesh, India, after colliding with another train, resulting in at least 10 deaths and 25 injuries. This is the third rail accident in the country since June. The accident occurred when one train was switching tracks and was rear-ended by the other train. Rescue operations were hindered by the darkness, but locals assisted in the effort. The Prime Minister and Chief Minister expressed condolences and provided compensation to the victims.

The train No. 06073 MGR Chennai Central – Bhubaneswar Special will leave Chennai Central at 11.45 pm on November 13, 20 and November 27 (Mondays) which will reach Duvvada (Vizag) on the next day at 11.15 am. It would reach Bhubaneshwar at 6.30 pm on the same day.

The EcoR railways will extend weekly special trains No. 08543 Visakhapatnam-Bangalore Cantonment and train no 08544 Bangalore Cantonment to Visakhapatnam.

Operations of all fifteen flights were suspended at Tirupati and four from Visakhapatnam. Around 150 trains coming from Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Odisha, and West Bengal, besides other states, were either canceled or diverted.

The second Vande Bharat express train between the two Telugu states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana is all set to be launched soon.
