A retired Kentucky police officer was arrested after shooting a utility worker on a service call at his home.
Police said 75-year-old William Calvert shot and wounded the telephone company technician just before 3 p.m. Monday at his Scottsville home, reported WSMV-TV.
It's not clear what led to the shooting, but police said Calvert was too irate to take a mugshot when he was booked into jail in Allen County.
Police said alcohol appeared to be a factor.
Jeffrey Powell, a 47-year-old worker for North Central Telephone Cooperative, was taken to a hospital in Nashville, Tennessee, about 70 miles away.
His condition isn't known.
Calvert was charged with two counts of attempted murder in the shooting.
His 69-year-old wife was home at the time, but she was not injured.
