A Californian company called Aeon Tac makes aluminum AR-15 stocks called LWB (Light Weight Billet). The stock is machined out of a billet 6061 aluminum and as the name implies, it is quite lightweight weighing only 7 oz. It is an adjustable stock with 3″ difference between the fully collapsed and extended positions.

It is also a really slim stock with 1.36″ width. The mil-spec buffer tube width, which this stock is designed for, is about 1.15″. It means wall thickness of the stock is about .100″.

If the included set screw is tightened all the way, it will fix the stock in place making it non-adjustable. This “feature” is designed to comply with the legislation of the states which have restrictions concerning the collapsible stocks.

The Aeon Tac LWB comes with a Cerakote finish of black or FDE colors.

In order to adjust the length, you simply need to press on the rear portion of the latch located on the bottom of the stock thus unlocking it from the buffer tube. Then adjust it to the desired length and release the latch to lock it back – just like the majority of other AR-15 stocks work. The hidden design of the latch should help to prevent it from snagging on gear and unintentionally unlocking the stock. Here is a short video showing how the stock length is adjusted.

It would be better if the company added some sort of a polymer cheek piece as an option for those who live in hot or cold climate. Addition of QD sockets would also be a good idea.
