HMD Global’s entry-level smartphone, Nokia 2, which was announced last month, will soon be available in the US. It is currently up for pre-order at online retailers Amazon, B&H, and Best Buy. The smartphone has been priced at $99.

In the US, the Nokia 2 will be available as an unlocked unit, but it is only compatible with GSM-based carriers such as AT&T and T-Mobile and will not work on Sprint or Verizon.

While the device is up for pre-order, none of the retailers have mentioned the release date. So, we are not sure when the device will be shipped to those who decide to pre-order.

Earlier, the Nokia 2 smartphone went up for sale in Russia and South Africa. Interestingly, it is yet to go up for sale in India where the smartphone’s announcement took place.

One of the highlight of the smartphone is its battery. It comes with a massive 4,100mAh battery which the company claims can provide two days of battery life on a single charge.

The smartphone features a 5-inch HD LTPS display with screen resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels and Gorilla Glass 3 on top. Under the hood, it is powered by Qualcomm‘s Snapdragon 212 processor, along with just 1GB RAM and 8GB internal storage. There is also a microSD card slot, allowing users to expand storage capacity on the device.

There is an 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. The company has included “Bothie” feature that allows users to use both front and rear cameras simultaneously.

It comes with IP52 certifications, meaning that the smartphone is splash proof. Connectivity features on the device include Dual SIM, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, and GPS / GLONASS.
