Hey y'all it's been many years since I've visited this forum. Here's my problem. My wife is wanting a new e cig for Christmas and I'm blown away by the options now.

For the last 5 years we've both been using Provari v2 with Vivi Novas. Her Provari is starting to crap out and with Provape gone I've got to branch out.

So I'm looking for ideas from y'all on what to get for our style of vaping if possible anymore.

We're not looking for sub ohm and clouds and all that. Just a good vape and something that won't break anytime soon. We've loved our Provaris and Vivi for 5 years I can easily build coils for them. I'm looking for something like a Provari, something maybe I could still use the Vivi Nova with or maybe a tank comparable to the Vivi. It's just been so long since I've looked around I'm so behind on what they've come out with.

I appreciate any help and will provide any info I've left out. This was always a great community years ago and I'm positive it still is.

Look into the jac vapour dna 75b. It's an elegant and small box mod, very well built and affordable. Many who owned provari's love this mod...as for another tank, aspire nautilus usually scores tops

I've heard great things about the Jac. Although there are many mods nowadays that would be ok. Like a simple little Pico.

The only problem with the Nautilus is that it's not particularly rebuildable. It can be done, but not easily.

If you're used to the Vivi Nova, the ProTank might work well for you. The PT2 seemed to be the beginning of the popularization of rebuilding for clearomizers.

But, my favorite clearomizer for rebuilding is the Joyetech Ego One V2 Mega with CLR coils.

The CLR coils are the rebuildable version of the CL coils that come with the clearo (affectionately called Eggrolls because the name is so long). They have their own thread: eGo ONE tank series – CLR coil

The CLR are very easily rebuildable and produce a very nice amount of vapor, without getting excessive. I'm a pretty solidly MTL vaper. And, they're perfect for me.

Seriously, mcgatson, DPLongo and I both vape in your style of vaping and have for approximately 6 years.

I'd highly suggest you take a look at the JAC as a new mod. It's an 18650 battery mod that is most similar to a Provi Mini in size.

If you're looking for a Vivi Nova replacement, I'll offer the suggestion to look at Joyetech's Ego One Mega tank (aka my beloved Egg Rolls). The drop in coils are unbelievably good, not sub ohm, and both are monetarily more than reasonable.
While it's not quite as small as a Nova, I think you might just find the vape to be amazing.

My 17c. Good luck to ya!!!!

PS. I just saw that Ms. Heretik posted the link for the coils that go with the Egg Rolls. Thanks, Dancing! (hugs)

Hello. So, I'm going off the beaten path here and say that your key point is going to be the atomizer. Get that right and you'll be happy with the vape of just about any mod. ..

At that point, you want a mod that is good, of higher quality. Many devices have the DNA 75 board in them, which is a very good board and a highly recommended one.

So from there, you may like to look for the different devices that utilizes that board. The lost vape therion 75 is one very good one. The body is very well built and will serve any owner very well due to that quality. But it's a bit pricier than others - notably its pricier than the JAC but I've read people having difficulty with things like the paint chipping off and the battery door giving a headache and needing taped on or some such thing with the JAC, so personally I wouldn't want to buy that one, although many like it even with the problems it's giving others. Perhaps because the price point is lower...perhaps because the size and shape is just right.

That said, there are boards that aren't DNA boards that perform beautifully. The geekvape aegis is waterproof and shockproof that is getting excellent reviews at current moment. Also, the aspire zelos is another mod which is getting excellent reviews, the Pico as well.

You might shop around for something in a shape and style you like..but note, your happiness with the vape itself is going to be in your topper as much as anything else...

I like the nautilus 2 or the kayfun prime for your topper - depending on whether you want to buy coils or build them.

I have a Provari 2.5 and I also went through the Vivi Novas, Stardusts, Aspires, Kayfuns, etc. I finally stopped at the Kayfun V3 mini. It ticks all the boxes, works perfectly and I don't even bother to look at new tanks anymore. The only hardware I've bought in the last year have been some drip tips and spare parts for the Kayfun. I recommend the Kayfun V3 Mini Plus if you can find it, just because it's bigger and looks better on the provari. Other than the size, it's identical. Unfortunately, Fasttech has stopped selling them.

I have an elf and I didn't know it could take nautilus coils good to know. I like it, but the coils that come with are a bit low resistance for me.

There's always a Kabuki but that's a high expense option, although the clones aren't bad for the cost, they also take Nautilus coils.

I like the Nicolas vapefly tank it's a "sub0hm" MTL tank but has a 0.6 and a 1.8 coil, bit of an airier draw but a nice little tank that really is MTL.

I like the CLR coils that go with the Ego Mega one, but there are other tanks that take them as well. The nautilus 2 isn't a bad choice but it does have some downsides-- fiill option and sometimes flavor is not as good, although the vape is very smooth. Easy to operate tank. If you want to get into rebuidables, either the Vandy vape berserker or the siren V2 are great choices, the V2 is an easy setup and I get great flavor out of both.

Best of luck,

Anna

Another vote for the JAC Vapour series B DNA75. :thumb: It really reminds me of a mini Provari. It's a cross between a box mod and a tube mod; the edges are well-rounded and fits very comfortable in the hand. I get all day use with a Samsung 30Q 18650 battery.

For the tank, I suggest a Kabuki clone clearomizer from Fast Tech. Inexpensive ($10), available in silver or black, and takes the Aspire Nautilus BVC drop in coils. Perfect for a mouth-to-lung vaper. Only downside to me is its a bottom fill tank.
