The keyless entry smart lock allows you to enter your home using a personal code and the motorized deadbolt locks with just the push of a button. It also includes traditional key functionality for peace of mind. Secured keyless entry convenience includes 30 user codes plus a master code feature for added security, a tamper resistant interior cover, and a 10 digit backlit keypad with dedicated lock button for one touch locking. Users have additional options that include turning on automatic door locking after 30 seconds, a door locked/unlocked blinking LED indicator, and audible beeping when pressing buttons.

UPDATE 12/18/19: Had to call Kwikset. They sent me a replacement lock. It is DEFECTIVE so now I’m sitting here with NO lock on my door. Awesome...Glad I have a fireproof door! I ordered amazon basic brand AA batteries to go in this lock. I have had it installed here for less than 4 months. I just replaced the batteries for the first time since installation and I noticed they had some corrosion on them (the amazon brand ones) so I cleaned off the connections etc and put brand new batteries in about 1-2 weeks ago. Imagine my surprise today when my door would not lock and the app informed me the batteries were low. I pulled the amazon batteries out and noticed a strong odor like electrical fire. I checked connections again and noticed a bit of corrosion and cleaned it again and replaced batteries. When I put the battery pack back in, the lock began a long and steady beep indicating a jam. It wouldn’t stop til I took the battery pack out. I put ANOTHER new set of batteries in and placed the pack inside and now it won’t work at all. Pictures of the fried innards are accompanying this post. Called amazon and I’m actually on hold now. I’ve been informed they are contacting Kwikset to take advantage of the manufacturer’s warranty. I hate the idea of installing, yet another, lock if it’s just going to quit on me again. Also... maybe the batteries?!

    We have 3 of these installed at our house. We've had the one for about 2 years and snagged the camera and lock on a Prime Day deal. The Amazon In Home Delivery service isn't offered in our city, but we still love the lock and the camera. We just bought two more and saw that they discontinued the camera that goes with them. Based on other reviews, I wasn't sure if the lock was going to work without the camera or not but we took a chance. They most definitely work without the camera. It's a little annoying because only the lock with the camera shows up on my the Amazon Key app, so I had to manually input all of the user codes instead of digitally setting them up in the app. Other than that though I can use all three through my Alexa app and they all work with my Echo Plus. I love being able to double check if I locked the garage door from my couch or bed. I also love that I don't have to carry a key around anymore to get in my house. I would like to point out that the instructions are a tad bit misleading. When you put the battery pack in the lock and hold the lock button down, the deadbolt will retract and come back out a couple of times and then flash green if it was successful. If you watch it though, it only retracts halfway so you assume that it's jammed. It's not, it only goes half way for this step. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO MESS WITH IT TO GET IT TO RETRACT THE WHOLE WAY IN THIS STEP... YOU WILL BREAK IT. Once you get passed that, install is a breeze. It just throws you for a bit that it won't retract completely. For the price point, you really can't beat this model. If I could figure out how to hook it up to my privacy fence without getting weather damage, I'd buy a couple more.

    UPDATE: after less than 2 months of this being installed, the technology failed. Let me tell you how incredibly inconvenient it is for the device that provides you access to your home, glitches... it repeatedly attempts to automatically re-lock itself. At first the automatic locking was a nice feature - until it the feature failed and for thirty minutes it continually was turning its motors to lock although the door was already locked. I had to take apart the whole thing to remove the batteries to make it stop. But now as long as there are batteries in it, it keeps happening. This lock is full of glitches and headaches. I went from loving having a smart lock and connecting to my iPhone and Alexa to absolute dread over this expensive worthless device. I firmly believe it’s more hassle than it’s worth. If you invest in this garbage, be sure to be ready to invest a LOT of time setting it up, and additional time on the phone with terrible customer service. Word to the wise - just don’t.

    I bought the smart lock to eliminate the need for a key, to lock/unlock from my phone and Alexa. Though the set up process was a bit intensive and requires an Amazon Cloud Cam and special power cord, it’s a great addition to the home.

    I will warn, this DID NOT work with the Kēvo app. Also note, for this to work with the Amazon key app, you MUST have an Amazon Cloud Cam, and that cloud cam either needs to note that it’s compatible with the smart lock or you have to buy a $20 power cord / “dongle”.

    With that said - being able to add guests with defined codes for access at specified times is great. The automatic lock feature gives peace of mind. Being able to unlock the door for guests with a simple prompt from Alexa is amazing. The smart key feature is also fantastic - and perfectly pairs with a Kwikset smart key knob... I was EASILY able to rekey both to be on the same key as the other locks in my home.

    So it was a little headache, investment of time, and some extra equipment - but Amazon’s wonderful customer service was able to help and walk me through each step to get the tech up and running.

    So before this I had purchased the Kwikset 916. OMG the 916 is an abomination!
    This unit however, though not as attractive works like a champ. Don't be dismayed by the old fashioned push buttons, they just plain work!

    So now I have this in the Amazon key configuration, paired with a Amazon Cloud cam. Honestly I really didn't buy the Amazon key with the intent of using Amazon key. I just wanted an easy to use Smart Lock, so my kids could get in if they forget their key, and I can let people like a housekeeper in on a limited schedule.
    But...
    This lock paired with a cam, and Amazon key configuration is so good I think I will probably seriously consider using Amazon key as intended! I mean Amazon knows who is delivering, they need to use the app to open the door, they can just do so one time, and anything they do I capture on my camera.

    I bought Amazon Key to have my packages delivered in my home (as I’ve had them stollen) & to provide easy access to my dog walker & friends. The service is amazing and the functionality of the products integrated together is very cohesive. This is my review of the lock:

    The lock was easy to assemble & install. It was a little tricky to pair with the camera & the app but I just kept trying and finally got it. I love that I can set preferences to automatically lock after 30 seconds. Very useful feature in case someone forgets to lock the door behind them. I also love that I can create different access codes for different people and it will alert me who opened the door. I will say it does make a sound when it unlocks/locks but I would buy it again.
