Stepanek retired from tennis earlier this month after 21 years on the tour.

The 38-year-old, who struggled with back problems in recent years, reached a career-high of eighth in the singles rankings in 2006.

He won the Davis Cup alongside Tomas Berdych with the Czech Republic in 2012 and 2013.

Andre Agassi was already a member of Djokovic’s team and will assist him at Grand Slam events while Stepanek will take the reigns at ATP Tour tournaments.

Djokovic will make his return to the tennis scene at the Mubadala World Tennis Championship from December 28-30 before starting his competitive season in Doha.
