Some actors seem naturally born to play the role of a Supervillain, as is the case of English actress, Sarah Douglas. The diabolical glee that embodies the many villainous characters Ms Douglas has portrayed during her celebrated career, are excellent examples for any proto-Supervillain of how to carry oneself with a sense of supreme superiority and utter contempt for those who stand in thy way.

Career highlights include the iconic Ursa of Superman II, Queen Taramis of Conan The Destroyer and Pamela of V: The Final Battle.

Every Supervillain worth their impressively intimidating wardrobe of evil intent needs to have a No. 1 Bodyguard or Henchman completely devoted to the Supervillain’s well being, generally to the point of lacking even the barest semblance of a normal sense of self-preservation.

I wouldn’t generally endorse workplace relationships, especially between Supervillain and minion, they just have this whole habit of turning into a ‘conflict of interest’ problem. The Supervillain just wants to rule the world, but the bodyguard is looking for more - it can get very uncomfortable for all concerned.

Coming from the Vampire community, Pam is an exception to that rule. She’s both bodyguard, henchman, lover and progeny to Eric Northman, the 1,000 year old vampire Supervillain and Sheriff of Louisianna’s Area 5, operating out of the 'hiding-in-plain-sight’ lair of Fangtasia.

When you’ve got a 200 years to work out the kinks in a relationship, and the Sire also has legitimate supernaturally entitled dominion over their progeny, that can solve a lot of the problems we mere-mortals have to contend with.

And yes, disrespect Eric or piss her off and Pam will rip your throat out.

Though Australian Supervillain, Dick Smith, has been circling Ball’s Pyramid for some years, it remains available for a Supervillain who likes a challenge. I am imagining the possibilities… It really would be a great location to grow that giant limpet army I’ve always wanted.

Not A Supervillain Lair? Then It Should Be #1 - Kings Island, Denmark

I like to keep an eye out for locations that seem to be so naturally imbued with just the right mix of practical suitability and formidable aesthetic grandeur that they are all-but-declaring, ’Supervillain In Residence: Disturb At Your Imminent Peril’.

When I find such a place, I’ll generally send a note to my realtor at Supervillain Living & Lifestyle to check the location’s particulars, eg; Is there a Supervillain currently in residence? If not, is it for sale? And if not, I’ll then decide if I should just go ahead and seize the property anyway by unleashing my unstoppable warbot army. Or not. Either way, I’ll set up a case file for future reference.

Case #1 - Kings Island, Denmark (Middelgrundsfortet)

Built in 1890, it’s the largest artificial island and sea fortress in the world, and still boasts the well-preserved fortifications of Fort Middelgrund. The fort’s facilities include well-equipped rooms and halls, a modern restaurant, nightclub, bar and billiard lounge, etc. The hotel section (main Minion quarters) includes 88 beds in 24 rooms. And there’s even a fully-furnished commander’s dwelling with living quarters in a beautiful maritime style.

So, really, all it needs is a few basic upgrades to be Supervillain ready. Maybe a few well positioned death ray canons, some phased-ionic sea mines, a host of giant killer limpets guarding the sea wall, and three squads of minions on permanent rotating patrols. That should keep those meddling heroic do-gooders at bay.

The Insanely Complicated Logistics of Building a 'Planetarium' for the Supervillainous Mr & Mrs Frost's Death Ray
Miami’s building the new Mr & Mrs Frost Supervillain Institute, or as their propaganda spokesminion called it, Science Museum, and it seems hell bent on making the construction process of the ‘planetarium’ to house their state-of-the-art death ray as interesting as possible.

Work on the ‘Sharkquarium Tank’ and ‘Little Minion Daycare Center’ are reportedly on schedule though. Mrs Frost did however acknowledge that since the Supervillains won the world, and government intelligence agencies now basically work for their best interests, rather than the conquered servant-class, locating fresh supplies of meddling spies for the daily shark feed has become a challenge.

“Visitors to the Institute expect to see Mr Bond die every day,” Mr Frost stated with a maniacal chuckle. “That’s why we have our Mad Sciences research division working overtime on cloning the Bonds - Connery, Craig, Moore, Dalton, Niven, Brosnan - we’re even doing Lazenby, just so we can say we have the entire set.“
