I have never really had a sweet tooth in my life. If I want to grub some massively unhealthy food I would much prefer KFC to Dunkin Doughnuts, so I found it odd that when I first started vaping a month ago and was trying tons of juices that I gravitated towards desserts. Thus far anyway, I have not suddenly started buying up candy bars and ice cream when I go shopping, but today I had a random inclination that I decided to act upon.

So far my favorite liquid is a flavor called Creme Brulee. Not a day goes by that it is not in my tank at some point. The odd thing? I have never actually eaten a real one in my entire life and had only vaguely even heard of it previously. Today I got a wild hair and decided to change all that. Nothing like a Saturday rando mission to shake things up.

First let me say that I am most assuredly NOT a cook. As a single dude in my 20's I don't do much cooking, but since I had nothing better to do I decided what the hell. I got a recipe online and then had to make a couple of stops. Surprisingly, it's not that tough to make and contains very few actual ingredients. It almost took me longer at Walmart trying to track down what I now know are called "ramekins" than it did to mix up a batch and stick it in the oven. The guy at my local 7-11 probably thinks I am a crackhead now since I went there and got one of those butane torch lighters to caramelize the sugar on top because I did not want to buy an entire huge torch and attachment for one batch of desserts.

So the final result when I tried it? OMG, I almost had a mouth orgasm. My next door neighbor ended up knocking on my door since the whole floor smelled like vanilla heaven from my efforts and I gave her some as well. I think I won some points with her in the process and she is pretty friggin hot to boot. Score! I can also now honestly say that the Jimmy the Juiceman vape version is a fairly accurate representation of the dessert. I will attach a pic of the finished product below.

So what about you? Do dessert vapes make you want real dessert?

Crikey Robby! That looks delicious. I have heard creme brûlée is difficult to make so you did well! I haven't made a dessert in my life!
I don't have a sweet tooth either...gravitate to the savoury stuff first. However, I DO vape desserts (and a bit of tobacco to mix things up). Bit of a win, win really. Dessert without the calories.
And no, vaping desserts hasn't made me run to the confectionery isle - thank goodness!

I'm a dessert flavor fan, too. And cereals. Never thought it possible because my first 62,916 juice purchases and DIY recipes were all about replicating a cigarette. I was pretty stubborn about it and still have an ish load of tobacco flavorings.

When I started vaping, everything was about baked goods around here- and most of the few online suppliers'.

Got a bottle of french toast. Started that morning and reeeeealy got hungry for it. By afternoon, didn't ever want fr toast for the rest of my life, lol.

Didn't help that my atty leaked a bunch out in my jacket pocket at a gathering and stunk me all up. Was a bit humorous watching all others looking around the room for the smell tho :).

Gave up on all the flavored stuff since. Cigs didn't have any anyhows.

Never had a sweet-tooth and am not a foodie so I've stuck with unflavored all the time since.

Robby, you are now officially gay lol. Just kidding, my hats off to you for actually trying to make that. That is a pretty big step for someone that says they can't cook. Most men think throwing a steak on a grill is cooking. You stepped it up about 5 notches.

And you definitely scored points with your neighbor. You also figured out how to lure her in lol. Just start putting cinnamon rolls and stuff in the oven and leave your door cracked a little.

My tastes are about the same as Coastal's. I love desserts, breakfast and cereal vapes. I also love a good bourbon vape. And even better if it has vanilla or caramel in it.

If you haven't tried it yet check out some banana foster, yummm.

Great job on the Creme Brulee! I vape mostly desert'ish and alcoholic drink juices like Cognac and Whiskey. Neither makes me pine for the real thing.

OK, first off, creme brulee is fantastic. If somebody tried to mess with me while eating some I'd probably stab them in the eyeball with my fork and then go right back to eating it. That's how good it is. I used to have quite the sweet tooth when I was younger but I lean a lot towards savory or spicy flavors now. I just get the very rare craving for sweets, and I give in to that craving every time because it's so rare. I do tend to crave healthy foods though and I try to 'listen to my body' a lot. It serves me pretty well. When I crave unhealthy stuff it's usually deep fried junk or something with a bunch of carbs. And that's typically only in cold weather. When it heats up I shed excess weight because I just can't stand to eat 'heavy' foods since I'm already sweating my .... off.

Vaping though - I like a lot of flavors. I really enjoy complicated ones that change depending on Wattage or temp. And they are pretty much always going to be sweet. I just got a 0 nic sampler bottle in yesterday that smells like lemon meringue pie. Smells really good, looking forward to trying it. I find that stuff like that doesn't make me want to actually eat or snack. But I can certainly understand if vaping a flavor that is new to you makes you want to try the real thing.

I have a cousin that is a chef. He said the best way to cook steak is to pan seer it, then finish it up in an oven. He isn't a fan of grilling meat, unless its a hotdog lol.
i almost always cook mine on cast iron seared then broiled high each side for about 7-8 mins.

I wouldn't do it that way because I imagine it would be hard to get the interior to the correct temperature. I've got grilling meat down pretty pat though, both on the barbie or in a SS pan.

I saw something a while back that I want to try sometime. You take a torch to the meat and get a thin surface sear just right. Then you seal it in a vacuum bag and cook it in water at the temperature you want the interior to reach. That could be really nice.

Today was actually one of the few times my oven has even been turned on since I moved in here. The few other times have been for frozen pizzas. I took my 5 remaining ramekins of Creme Brulee and put them in the fridge. After doing some reading online, there is a significant portion of people that prefer that it is served cold rather than hot. Serving it hot is apparently the "european" way of eating it, while we Americans tend to like it served chilled. It also supposedly has a slightly different flavor profile after it is refrigerated overnight, so I will test this theory out over football tomorrow. Not exactly my typical food pairing for binge watching NFL Sunday Ticket and franticly checking out my fantasy players

Anytime you mix ingredients in food the flavor will change a bit over time. A lot of doughy baked goods actually like to age for weeks. I just made a whack of short bread cookies and will leave them in the (cold) garage until Christmas. That will make a huge difference, both in texture and flavor. Creme Brulee not so much IMO, but you should still see a change. Things like stews I like to leave in the fridge for a couple of days ideally, but at least one day.
