Angelina Jolie In Tears On Visit To Bosnia As Part Of Her Anti-War Rape Campaign

Angelina Jolie and British Foreign Secretary William Hague visited the country to promote their campaign to end sexual violence against women in war.

Angelina Jolie was moved to tears as she listened to the accounts of victims of sexual crimes during her visit to Bosnia this weekend.

The actress, who is co-hosting a huge global conference in London this June on preventing rape being used as a tactic in war with British Foreign Secretary William Hague, was in the country to promote the campaign.

Speaking at a conference, the Hollywood actress said: 'The use of rape as a weapon of war is one of the most harrowing and savage of these crimes against civilians.

'This is rape so brutal, with such extreme violence, that it is even hard to talk about it.'

Ange and William Hague also laid flowers at a cemetery for Bosnian Muslim victims of the Srebrenica massacre in 1995, which was Europe's worst massacre since World War Two.

Angelina's 2011 directorial debut In the Land of Blood and Honey, which covered sexual violence inflicted on a woman during Bosnia's 1992-95 war, has partly inspired this campaign. How Angelina Jolie has become an inspiration to us all...
