Award-winning photo editing app infltr received an update on Wednesday that adds a number of notable new features, including support for recording filtered videos.

The new video recording mode appears beside the regular camera shutter button within the app, and joins infltr's existing support for capturing Live Photos, depth photos, and raw photos.

The new video mode also brings the ability to flip the recording between the front and rear camera using a simple double tap on the screen, so users recording a selfie video can switch to show their surroundings. With version 2.12, infltr also allows the iPhone's torch mode to be turned on and off during recording.

With iOS 11 and the iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X, Apple introduced five Portrait Lighting effects that make use of depth information. infltr's latest update enhances its existing depth editing functions with a new solid color overlay tool, so users can change the background or foreground of depth photos in pre- or post-production editing modes. Unlike Apple's Portrait Lighting effect, infltr's approach works with the iPhone 7 Plus camera and on any devices that have saved depth photos.

Elsewhere, the update brings 25 new color blend modes, a new sharpen tool, an auto-straighten photo tool, and the ability to share photos taken in the app directly to Instagram.

infltr costs $1.99 and can be downloaded for iPad and iPhone (with Apple Watch support) from the App Store. [Direct Link]

If only this was free, could overtake Instagram as-well-as Snapseed & VSCO or instead, others could support HEIF & HEVC.

Well, iPhone X is still Out-of-Stock in India. So, Android it is.

Wait, so because an app received a pretty meaningful update, you're defecting to Android?

Until there's a new one to replace, that's the current OS.

An update to a $1.99 app (that there's a good chance will either be on sale soon, or in my case, was available for free), is going to cause you to spend several hundred dollars (on just the phone, not counting re-buying Apps and media)?

Your logic escapes me.

Hahaha.. We just don't prefer Internet based transactions.

But paying several hundreds in person (and then more later into a different ecosystem) is preferable than having a card on file with Apple, to purchase a $1.99 app (if you don't have the app already)?

At this point, I'm not longer trolling; I'm genuinely curious about how you're rationalizing this. I realize we're from different countries and cultures, but two bucks versus six hundred seemed like a no-brainer to me.

You are the amazing human being never heard of India. Where 'm I suppose to buy them.

We've heard of India, you're where the iPhone SE2 is going to come from.

I'd assume you'd buy them at the store. Or on Amazon. Or eBay. Again, assume.

However I'm still fairly sure that the Indian App Store supports adding a credit or debit card to your account. If there was no way to make money, Apple would have no reason to actually do business there.
