Why Sonam Kapoor despises calling ‘Veere Di Wedding’ a “chick flick”
‘Veere Di Wedding’, starring Sonam Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Swara Bhaskar and Shikha Talsania, has been the talk of the town all year round. The first look posters that saw the leading ladies getting ready for the wedding of the year piqued fans’ interest in the film. While the lovely ladies are enjoying the hype surrounding their film, one thing Sonam will not accept is anyone calling it a “chick flick.” In a recent interview, the actress said there was no such thing as “chick flicks”, as one would not call a hero-centric movie, a “stud film.” She went on to explain that ‘Veere Di Wedding’ is a different coming-of-age film for women at large, that has four leads. Those following the film’s social media handles will be well aware of the camaraderie the four co-stars share. Speaking on the same, Sonam said that it is important to get along with any co-star be-it a man or woman. Having a good rapport, she says, is important as she thinks one would have to be a fantastic actor to pretend to like someone. Sonam also expressed her relief about sharing good chemistry with her co-stars otherwise she says the film would have been a “disaster.” ‘Veere Di Wedding’ is scheduled to hit theatres next year.
