Blink-182 knocks Drake out of No. 1 spot

“Dammit,” Drake is probably saying right about now: Blink-182 just knocked the Views rapper out of the top spot on the Billboard 200 with the group’s new album, California.

The record is Blink’s first since 2011’s Neighborhoods and first without founding member Tom DeLonge, who was recently replaced by Alkaline Trio’s Matt Skiba. It debuted July 1 and sold 186,000 equivalent album units the week ending with July 7.

Drake’s Views spent nine weeks at No. 1 — the longest run for a male artist since Usher’s Confessions topped the chart for nine weeks in 2004 — before California took over. This marks Blink-182’s second No. 1 album, the first being 2001’s Take Off Your Pants and Jacket, which included songs like “First Date” and “The Rock Show.”
