Goldie Hawn‘s last film role was in 2002’s The Banger Sisters opposite Susan Sarandon, but the actress is ready to jump back into the thick of things with Amy Schumer: The pair will costar in an untitled comedy directed by Jonathan Levine (Warm Bodies, 50/50) and written by Katie Dippold (Ghostbusters, The Heat). While plot details have been largely kept under wraps, the scribe recently revealed some tidbits about the story and its inspiration.

During an interview with Collider, Dippold explained how the film is based on her mother, whom Hawn will emulate. “When I was younger, my mom was always very adventurous,” Dippold said. “Her and my dad divorced when I was in college, and she’s gotten more concerned about safety. She wants to make sure the doors are locked. I feel like there used to be a more adventurous spirit in her.”

Dippold helped set up an eHarmony dating profile for her mom, though she called it “the most phoned-in profile I’ve ever seen in my life,” complete with typos, angry caps, and no photo. “I started daydreaming about, ‘What if I took her on a crazy vacation somewhere?'” she said. “‘And then I took us off the beaten path, just to shake things up?’ So then, I started thinking about a movie version of that.”

“So, the movie is that,” she continued. “She gets taken off the beaten path, but then everything the mother feared is correct. So, it’s then basically trying to get to an American embassy through the Amazon rainforest and whatnot.”

Dippold said she still hasn’t taken her mom on this trip. “I swear I’m going to do it, this year,” she promised. “At the end of production, I will take my mom on vacation and not just mock her through this movie.”

Hawn previously told reporters how excited she is to work with Schumer. “We’re going to hit the balls back and forth,” she joked. “Two women lost in the jungle. It’s going to be so much fun! I love her very much.”
